Dear All

This year I grew the Japanese Oyama sweet peas and they performed brilliantly.  I have now collected the seeds, which will be a mixture of the violet and bi-coloured variety, as I haven't separated them.  I have considerably more than I need, so I would like to offer them to other members at £1 for 20 seeds, plus postage.  Profits will go to my son who has collected the seeds for me!

If you are interested in purchasing any, please e.mail me directly to vi...@mulberryhouseflowers.co.uk  <please do not 'reply to all' in the group>

Clearly these will need sowing Sept/October and are on a first come first served basis.

Many thanks
Vikki

Has anyone tried Oyama sweet peas alongside Winter Sunshine varieties, and how do they compare?
Thanks for offering the seed, Vikki

I tried Oyama last year, and Winter Sunshine this year, - both flowered earlier than the spencer varieties that i sowed at the same time and gave me flowers during May from an October sowing. The Winter sunshine colours were more popular with florists as they were better “wedding” colours

I think the Oyama ones need sowing early as a later batch that i did in November didn’t grow strongly and failed to catch up.

They both failed quickly when it got hot in the polytunnel whereas the Spencer ones kept going.

i’m doing both this year, - will let you know

Thanks Claire. Do you know when the Winter Sunshine ones petered out? Wondering if I can squeeze in Sweet peas followed by tomatoes! My Spencer ones flower from mid May to end june in tunnel, then outdoor ones take over.
