Pearltrees

I think I posted about pearltrees before, but I can't find the post - sorry if this is a (semi-)duplicate.  Pearltrees are a way of organizing concepts - there are currently two trees: flow-based programming, started by me, and the same name without the hyphen, created by someone else.  They cross-reference each other.  Mine is at http://www.pearltrees.com/#/N-fa=7172190&N-s=1_7172190&N-reveal=5&N-u=1_934975&N-p=68170440&N-f=1_7172190 - and the other is linked to it.

Another person, calling him/herself Stylizer has joined in (it wouldn't be you, would it, Dan?!), with a FBP-related pearltree which can be seen at http://www.pearltrees.com/#/N-fa=7989057&N-s=1_7989120&N-u=1_1245133&N-p=76251225&N-play=0&N-f=1_7989120 .  Some interesting stuff there - including something called DERI Pipes, which looks intriguing.  Pretty diagrams too!

Feel free to get involved - I know some of you have already, but we need to crowd-source this!

I just looked at Pearltrees. A few days ago, I was wondering about an alternative way to find websites, some alternative to Google and Google-like search engines. My first impression is Pearltrees look like a Wiki-style World Wide Web organizer. Wiki because it seems like Wikipedia in that the general public creates and connects pearls of web-sites and other things. And the WWW just sort of organizes itself as a network.

Am I far away in what Pearltrees are?

That sounds right. You have to join a team, but then you can add links,
pictures, etc. in a free association style. I like the visual aspect,
although pearltrees sometimes has trouble laying out a complex
multi-layered tree on the screen. In some ways, it is just a visual,
2-D version of hypertext - hypertext has a tendency to suck you in! I
think it was Ted Nelson who said about some hypertext they built
describing the workings of an automobile engine, "People learned more
about how a car engine works than they wanted to know!"

Hi, Paul, I`m Daniel the admin of Pearltrees, i reborn like a fenix in this group, I created another account in Pearltrees more organizated for Architectural Design and my own lifestyle, but without the FPB Tree, in the FPB Tree, i forget say you that get out to Main Root in the Pearltrees (i have 18000 views) and you can find others treasures, like Aurora Tree for AI Development with FPB and another called SkyNET, i know it is only a name but the idea is the same :P, becareful can be dangerous to many technologies applied, finally just finished the MIT AITI 2013 in Cali - Colombia, I will write an email and explain you what im making the last year or talk to you on Skype. Hi Daniel, I didn't quite get what you meant by "be careful can be dangerous to many technologies applied" - perhaps you could expand on that...?

Also, are you following the NoFlo work - that seems to be progressing very fast!

Hola, Paul, esta es mi anécdota, Hoy 04/08/2013 a las 3:40 AM, entre a Kickstarter y vi el proyecto de NoFlo. Voy a ser honesto, me toco que contener las lagrimas mientras pensaba; es lo mas SORPRENDENTE que halla visto!!!, es pura creación e imaginación, en mi humilde opinión y si han considerado los campos de aplicación, pienso que es el proyecto mas avanzado y ambicioso desde... mmm la Torre de Babel quizás, es lo mas cercano a una inteligencia artificial, a la programación ubiqua o a los escenarios futuristas de las películas como TRON.

En cuanto al vídeo de NoFlo:

• La Mansión
• El Equipo
• Como funcionan los algoritmos
• JavaScript
• Enfocado en DataViz
• Enfocado en 3D
• Amigable con el usuario
• Android App

Parecía una escena sacada de MATRIX, realmente INCREIBLE!!! Muy buen trabajo, déjame felicitar a Henri, pero me detendré en un dato curioso: Sali del sitio de Kickstarter corriendo hacia acá, pensando en que respuesta habías dejado sobre mi comentario el día de ayer, 3:51 AM, veo tu mensaje que me advierte sobre los avances de NoFlo. Insisto que parece muy curioso, nada mas el hecho de haberte conocido por Pearltrees me resulta curioso.

En el video aparece alguien programando en Android NoFlo me quede como que OMG!!! = Yo llevo cierto tiempo buscando la forma de desarrollar una aplicación similar pero para utilizar Grasshopper y hacer modelos 3D usando el modelo FPB en una App para Android que tenga Remote Programming. Aunque lastimosamente mis conocimientos en programación aun son muy limitados en comparación a los de un Ingeniero en Sistemas y lo que se de programación lo he aprendido totalmente autodidacta, ya que soy estudiante de Arquitectura, decisión que me ha sopesado mucho en estos últimos 4 años.

Ayer, te mencionaba que cree otra cuenta en Pearltrees llamada DTARCHITECT, en la cual tengo mas organizados los Pearls, mientras desarrollo en el SENA, un proyecto que segun los jueces es REVOLUCIONARIO en el sentido que esta aplicado a la ARQUITECTURA porque se encarga de Programming Buildings only using FBP and I.A. Algorithms into Grasshopper para luego fabricarlo mediante ROBOTS, quería pedirte algo de ayuda un tanto solidaria, necesito algunos de tus libros que hablan sobre los pasos a seguir en el modelo de desarrollo FBP.

Ahora si, voy a explicar porque mencione, "be careful can be dangerous to many technologies applied", te mencione que tengo un Pearl que se llama SkyNET, y no lo llame así por cualquier motivo, la nombre así, porque juntando varias de estas tecnologías, algunas perdidas entre internet y con algo como NoFlo podria ser perjudicial para muchas personas, la clave esta en entender como funcionarían todas estas tecnologías en conjunto, como si de una orquesta se tratase y darles un buen manejo y uso, por ahora el Pearl esta deshabilitado, pero me gustaría que le dieras un revisión.

En Diciembre te escribí una carta que nunca te envié, ahora ya me dieron aun mas ganas de viajar y trabajar en tu equipo, aportando muchísimas ideas, pero primero le daré un repaso a JS. Mas tarde tal vez te envié la carta.

Diculpame por publicar en español, pero es que ya son las 6:30 AM y escribir en Ingles es mas agotador.
