Now, the camera has stopped working again. I have followed the step explained -technologies/intel-realsense-technology.html here , but the procedure was unsuccesful (no error message). Please see attached files as per instructions.

My HP Envy m7-n109dx notebook came with Windows 8.1 preinstalled. My desktop runs Windows 7. I was tired of having one machine run one version of an OS while the other runs a higher version (previous laptop ran Vista and current desktop has Windows 7). I did a clean install on the HP Envy and put Windows 7 on it. Now the device manager shows "!" next to the RealSense camera. Will this camera work on Windows 7? If so, can someone give me a link to the needed driver(s) file? And lastly, since I never actually USED it, could someone provide a link to what it is, how does it work (if it will on this OS), etc?

Note: What the *.sh script perform?
The script above will download, patch and build realsense-affected kernel modules (drivers).
Then it will attempt to insert the patched module instead of the active one. If failed
the original uvc modules will be restored.

I wonder why every once in a while, Intel RealSense 3D camera fails to start? I have re-installed the drivers and SDK as well as the DCM but still it is whacky and very unpredictable. Any idea what the source of the problem could be? It should be able to run the examples in the SDK in a normal working situation.

Hi. I have HP Pavilion 15-bc004ur device with Intel Realsense camera embedded. I had Windows 10 1809 for some time and the camera worked fine. Then Windows decided to update itself to the 1909 version. It updated and the first time I booted it after the update the camera still worked (Windows Hello authentication). Then it stopped right after the boot. I tried to delete drivers and reinstall, but it made the whole situation worse and now I can not reinstall drivers and it always ends with fatal error. I managed to install all the drivers except Intel Realsense Camera SR300 Depth driver. I tried to roll back to 1809 after the failure, but it didn't work after the roll back as well.

The RealSense D400 cameras are the next generation of the Intel RealSense camera product line. I have had good success with the Asus Xtion using the openni2 drivers in ROS1. This is similar in cost ($300 US)to the Oak-D camera. The Xtion is the unit used by TRI on the head camera for the HSR and Stanford on the head camera for Jackrabbot2. The Xtion is limited to indoor and close (0-3m) range. I still would like to see a side by side comparison, of not only the cameras mentioned, but also other depth and stereo cameras. I understand that besides the sensor, the computing overhead of using optical sensors fro both SLAM and object recognition and tracking, is also a major consideration.

Earlier this month Intel released a driver update for what is called the Depth Camera Manager (DCM), basically the camera hardware drivers, but it did not address an issue with very slow wake up when the device was coming out of Sleep Mode. It usually took more than 30 seconds for the camera to fire up and attempt facial recognition.

After installing the new DCM drivers on my test device the camera now wakes up in less than 5 seconds to log me into the device using the F200 camera. Development hardware has never been known for extraordinary performance but this is a very good improvement in the cameras responsiveness.

Heavy vehicles are essentially used to perform several critical tasks in construction industry. These heavy vehicles are different in shape and structure according to their capabilities and needs on the construction sites. Bigger size and different design of these vehicles result in extended blind spot compare to the normal vehicles, thus risking the equipment and workers operating around them. Each year, a large number of incidents are reported involving human injuries or loss of life due to improper handling of blind spots in heavy vehicles. In this paper we developed a deep learning based collision detection and driver assistance methodology by removing the blind spots in haul truck. In the proposed methodology, vision sensor data is used for automatic detection and classification of objects, employing the YOLO-v5 network architecture. For distance measurement of the objects we used stereo imaging camera Intel RealSense D455. The proposed algorithm detects and classify the object around the vehicle and provide the captioning to describe the nature of object to the driver. In addition, the algorithm also measures the distance of objects from the vehicle. The experimental results validate the performance of our proposed methodology in real time.
