Hello,

1. For the last summit, I got to bring a guy called B. Ghose - a free
software geek - he has won the Google summer of code twice! He talked
about python. The talk was not all that effective. Hard to grasp in a
lecture type setting. The best thing we had was a small counter with
some laptops installed with Debian and Ubuntu which people could come
and use and I had stocked up Ubuntu CDs and stickers. Vimal Joseph
from SPACE Kerala sat at the counter for a day with us. I found many
students trying it out and finding it good. I think thats a pretty
neat low-tech thing to do. Just sit there with a couple of laptops and
CDs and print out some notices about "Free Software". It will be good.

2. The other mailing list is in Free lists. I made it when we started
the FLOSS cell. And then when it became inactive, it just went dead.
And, then later on, this google group was made. I am not sure who
fooby is and I don't think amal is a member of this group. Ask them.
Guess its better to continue on the google group if its convenient.

I heard from some other sources about the Canonical team visit to CEC.
It was quiet sad that it was not even mentioned in this group (or did
I miss seeing it?). You have to document your activities and put it up
online. Only then people would know about FLOSS CEC. Only then you get
these good chances to do and see things.

Best Regards
Githin
