Programsthat are contained in VST Sound files can only be used if the corresponding VST Sound file has been registered. It is possible to add further VST Sound files to your VST Sound folder or elsewhere. Put the vstsound file where you want it. I used my VST Sound Archives folder

The new Library Manager allows us to register content from any location we like. When double clicking on a *.vstsound archive, it scans all vstsound files in the same directory and if they are not already installed we get some options.

The good news, at least for me, is that even if I forget and mess up, tapping ignore during the plugin load will let me work without issues until I can get around to finding and moving/removing the lingering vstsound file.

Super frustrated here.

Just downloaded the HS 3 installer and separate content using the Steinberg Download Manager then installed the Application then ran the library manager.

The library manager is not finding the content and is not asking me register anything. Installing on mac is so much easier.

Where should I place the Content for HS 3?

When I ad Padshop as an instrument track cubase gives a mesagethat it cannot locate PAT_SMT_100_Content_Set.vstsound and PIC_SMT_100_Content_Set.vstsound. When I click locate it goes to C:\Users\Myname\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound\VST Sound Updates where theyis stored but when I click the file it still says it cannot locate it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let us assume that you have inherited a precious and unique acoustic guitar, for example, and you think it is worth building a virtual version of it so that you can play it with your keyboard. You have sampled the guitar sounds and noises, and now...

There is a way to temporarily mount the vstsound so you can test it. But I prefer just double clicking the vstsound file to register it with Steinberg Library Manager. You can always rebuild the library if you need to.

Welcome to the official Steinberg VST YouTube channel! VST stands for our Virtual Studio Technology, a technology that changed computer-based music production forever. Launched back in 1996, VST creates a professional studio environment on PC and Mac...

Container creation for our other instruments is not possible for the general public at the moment for technical reasons.

It is possible to become a HALion Partner and get access to our release channels, but this is bound to conditions. Among other obligations, you need to show that you are a professional sound designer, as this is a business partnership contract and we expect you to deliver professional content.

There is no public sign up page or anything really. It is an organic and personal business, we are not apple app store or google playstore after all

Usually, someone creates an instrument or a soundpack and shows it to us. If it is any good, negotiations can begin.

Halion is a software sampler and sound creation tool developed by Steinberg. VST Sound files are sample and preset libraries that can be used in Halion and other VST-compatible software. (Only Halion and Halion Sonic)

Test your VST Sound file in Halion or other VST-compatible software to ensure that it is working properly. You may need to make adjustments to your samples or sounds, or to the parameters and attributes you defined, to achieve the desired results.

Still no sign of the VST sounds and libraries in the VSTs.

Can this be solved or do I have to uninstall Cubase 11, install 9.5 on my new computer, and then update to 11? (Or can I even update to 11 one more time, since that update is already used?)

I assume on your new computer you have a folder with a bunch of .vstsound files in it. Make sure that the Steinberg Library Manager is installed. Then just double click on a .vstsound file. This will cause the Library Manager to register all the .vstsound files in that folder and any sub-folders. After that you can use the Library Manager to move the various libraries around.

Today I found some .vstsound files that was successfully registrated! The library was registrated, the files changed ikon in Files Explorer, but unfortunately no change in Cubase or for exampel Halion - still no vst sounds to choose from in the Load window.

Factory content (.vstsound files) installed in C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content but not available in Groove Agent SE / HALion Sonic SE. Windows Explorer shows all VST Sound Archives correctly but they are hidden in Cubase Mediabay / Library Manager. I have no clue.

I see only Cubase 9.5 in My Products. When I try to enter my download access code, it says that the activation code can only be used once to upgrade a license. When I go to Cubase 11, it seems like most things are downloaded but not installed.
