Georgia Institute of Technology does not accept credit from International Summer Programs, including but not limited to: Sichuan University, Xian Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong, Yonsei, KAIST, Korea University. If you have questions about your international transfer institution contact
d...@registrar.gatech.edu.
New students must request that an official transcript from all previously attended colleges be sent electronically or mailed to the Admissions Office. E-Transcripts are preferred, please follow instructions:
Current or previously enrolled undergraduate Georgia Tech students must have an official college transcript from each previous institution is required for application review. Send transcripts electronically from the University Registrar through an approved service (e.g. Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, SCOIR, etc.). Select "Georgia Tech" or "Georgia Institute of Technology" as the recipient of the document. If electronic delivery is not available, please mail the transcript to our office.
The basic policy regarding the acceptance of courses by transfer is to allow credit for courses completed with satisfactory grades ("C" or better) at other accredited colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, provided the courses correspond in time and content to courses offered at Georgia Tech. The Institute will not accept credit for courses successfully completed at another institution but previously taken at Georgia Tech unless the final grade received at Georgia Tech is a "W." The student must request and file an official transcript of transfer courses before the Institute can award credit. Coursework completed at colleges and universities outside the United States and Canada will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Transfer credit is not calculated in the Georgia Tech grade-point average.
Students may attend another institution as a transient student during terms when not enrolled at Georgia Tech. Students should discuss their course selection with their academic advisor to ensure transferability and applicability toward their degree programs. With the exception of officially sanctioned cross-enrolled programs, students are not to be enrolled at Georgia Tech and another institution during the same term without the specific approval the Institute Undergraduate Curriculum Committee or Institute Graduate Curriculum Committee, as appropriate.
A student may not apply for transfer credit until after matriculation at Georgia Tech. The courses to be transferred would typically be those appearing on the approved program of study form for the masters degree. A doctoral student normally does not request transfer credit. The rules relative to and the process for obtaining transfer of credit for graduate-level courses are published in the Catalog.
This course evaluation request website is intended for current undergraduate Georgia Tech students and applicants that need courses evaluated for credit, initial transfer, or admissibility.
Before submitting a request for an evaluation, students must review the Transfer Equivalency Table. If your courses are listed with a Georgia Tech equivalent, there is no need to request a new course evaluation.
Before logging into the transfer credit evaluation site and requesting a transfer course review you will need to have a course syllabus and/or description in electronic format for each course being evaluated. The course syllabus and description are the basis of your evaluation. Georgia Tech cannot process your request without them.
With sufficient documentation, the Registrar's Office will advance the request to the academic department for review. Faculty reviewing your request on behalf of the academic department may also return the evaluation to you if additional information is required.
A student who has received an offer of admission and who wishes to request transfer credit for a course that is not listed on Georgia Tech's transfer equivalency table must submit a course evaluation request through the transfer credit evaluation website by the deadlines listed below. These requests are reviewed for approval by the appropriate academic department. It is expected students provide adequate course materials to demonstrate that course equivalency. Course materials may include the following:
It should be noted that review of requested transfer credit does not always result in transfer credit approval. Any questions regarding this policy should be sent to the Registrar's Office at
d...@registrar.gatech.edu.
Admitted students who do not submit course materials for review by the deadlines listed below should remain aware that the decision on transferability of the course and the determination of its equivalency at Georgia Tech likely will not be completed in time to impact registration decisions for the first term of enrollment. Students are expected to plan accordingly and work with academic advisors.
Once enrolled at Georgia Tech, students are not allowed to take College Board (Advanced Placement and SAT II), International Baccalaureate, or A-Level Examinations for credit. All examinations must be completed prior the student's enrollment date. Students who offer satisfactory evidence that they are qualified to do so may receive credit for a course by examination at Georgia Tech. Such an examination is called an Examination for Advanced Standing.

The national certifying examination for surgical technologists covers the knowledge and skills common to competent entry-level Surgical Technologists in varied settings and geographical locations. NBSTSA committee members designed the examinations to assess the skills that comprise the core body of knowledge for all surgical technologists and surgical first assistants. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination examines practical knowledge, and one night of studying will not lead to passing grades.
