Biweekly Uposatha program
========================================= Note: (starting February every 2nd and 4th Sunday)
Our first Meditation & Dhamma Sunday this year will be January 16th 9:30 - 10:30am. The Sunday program is open to the public for providing a better theoretical understanding of the teachings of the Buddha according to the earliest Buddhist sources (Pali Canon). This year we will start with a new topic - we will read, discuss and contemplate a series of in-depth articles by the Ven. Bhikkhu Analayo: "From Craving to Liberation". You can get the course material for free here.
We will also continue our "Jhana meditation introduction course (Level II)" from last year . It will be January 16th, from 1pm - 2pm. If you missed the start and would like to participate in the next one just send an email to in...@floridabuddhism.org and we will sign you up for the upcoming one in February. Our "Immersive Pali Course" class will continue as well on Sunday, January 16th (from 7:15am - 9am) - Pali beginners and pros are all welcome.
(Instructor: Lennart Lopin) Sri Lankan Matara Nyanarama/Nyanananda System.
Monthly events ==================== First full day meditation retreat (DOM = Day of Meditation) will be taking place on Saturday, 29th. More information on the event will be posted shortly. We hope to provide regular full day retreats this year. We will meet in the morning between 8-9am. The day will be spent in noble silence and walking and sitting meditation. Formal instructions are available before the program starts. All participants would provide for their own meal. The meditation day will end in the evening with an optional chanting of the loving kindness sutta.
