Profile summary

Venerable Pannawansa was born in the southern part of Sri Lanka and

was later ordained in Buddhist Order. He speaks fluent English and French

besides his mother tongue. He obtained his first degree from the University of

Kelaniya in Sri Lanka and later went to France to continue his studies. He soon

became well-known in Europe as a meditation master and Dhamma teacher,

giving lessons in both English and French. Venerable Pannawansa has authored

a few books of Dhamma in English and French, while translating works from

French to English and Sinhala. Bhante continues to live in France where he

works to propagate the Dhamma worldwide while continuing his studies. He

has published a number of research papers on Buddhism and in his spare time,

composes poems and Buddhist hymns, a talent that he first displayed as a child.
