Gentlemen,
We are in the most important time in Our year. As you are already aware, you have done a great job making Targets ahead of schedule. 60% was again easily attained by most of you. It also shows who is really working the Membership and who is just lagging behind to hopefully come around in the end. This again is a job for District and Area Commanders to find out why these Squadrons are under strength this later in the year. This is the time when we become busy with many other things that our Squadrons excel at, raising money and putting on amazing events. We also get bogged down in our daily lives without the hustle and bustle of Holidays. I received 2 emails that I truly took to heart. One saddened me as it could have been from any of us who become frustrated and who felt they had failed in their duties. The other was a powerful email about being Resolved and Resolute. We go through the feelings in both emails, or at least I do on a regular basis. It is called life and s**it happens. Do not let the things that frustrate and upset you take over. Be Resolved and Resolute knowing that you have the ability to overcome any obstacle. Especially when you use the tools that everyone has, especially in this great organization we belong to. We have friends and family. We have pride and dedication. we also have the knowledge and faith to succeed. Nationally we are a model of success. We can all be a model of success in each of our Squadrons if we just do what we do. Never feel you have to do it alone. Those of us who see others struggle, remember another powerful statement that The Legion Family has adopted. Be The One! Thankfully this can apply not only to suicide prevention but in everyday life struggles and for anyone.
Please make sure you are contacting your members from 2024-2025 as they are delinquent. Nationally we are in 11th!!! Currently we sit in 9th place at 78.22% and a Renewal Rate of 68.60%. This Renewal Rate will not get us to our goal. We need to bring this up at least 20 points or better. We can get there. Do your Buddy Checks and Membership Drives. I have attached an email from Harl "Butch" Ray SAL National Membership Chairman. Please take the time to read this.
District 9 Jesse Bogle still holds 1st place with 84.36%. District 12 Andy Campbell is a close 2nd with 83.19% and District 8 Mark Kahn is 3rd with 80.85%. Great work!!!! We have 14 of 16 Districts at or above target. Big Changes in Area top ranking but the numbers are tightening. How will we finish??? Eastern Area Danny Roe has taken over 1st Place with 81.65%. SW Area Robert Medley is 2nd with 80.57% and Michael Mathias holds on to 3rd place with 80.07%. We have 5 of 6 Areas at or above Goal. Again well done Gentlemen!
To reach our All time high goal of 30,000 Membership we need to consistently hit 500-550 membership transmittals weekly from now on.
Items of Note:
- 915 Cards transmitted. This was over several weeks. Keep up the pace
- 195 Squadrons with one new on the books.
- 4 Zero Squadrons – Keep at this
- 78 Squadrons @ target
- 13 @ 100%.
- 10 @ 105%
- 90 Squadrons Short of Target that is 46.15% of Detachment this needs work!!!
District and Area Commanders get to work on the struggling Squadrons
