Your Voice is Needed NOW

Call to Action: Boys State / Girls State Funding

Funding for Florida’s premier youth leadership programs, Boys State and Girls State, is at risk as the Legislature continues budget negotiations. We urgently need your help TODAY to ensure these life-changing programs remain a funding priority.

At this critical moment, emails and phone calls are still among the most effective forms of advocacy, and your outreach can directly influence the outcome.

When contacting legislators, please reference the following appropriations:

• Senate Appropriation 2602 — Senator Tom Leek

• House Appropriation 2799 — Representative Michelle Salzman

We also strongly encourage you to contact the budget leaders overseeing final conference negotiations:

• Senate Appropriations Chair — Senator Ed Hooper

• House Budget/Appropriations Chair — Representative Lawrence McClure

Including these appropriation numbers helps legislative staff quickly identify the request and ensures your message is routed appropriately during negotiations.

For decades, Boys State and Girls State have provided Florida’s high school students with hands-on civic education, leadership training, and a deeper understanding of government, citizenship, and public service. These programs have helped shape generations of military leaders, veterans, elected officials, and community leaders across our state.

If we do not act now, funding for these impactful programs could be lost.

Please take just a few minutes today to call or email your legislators and respectfully urge them to support these appropriations and protect the future of Boys State and Girls State.

Your voice matters. Your advocacy matters. And your action right now can make the difference.

For God and Country,

Stuart Scott
