As we prepare for our 54th Annual Detachment Convention the weekend of June 11–14, 2026, it’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final edition of The Source for the 2025 –2026 Service Year.

Before anything else, thank you to everyone who worked hard throughout the year to help make this another successful year for the Detachment. Because of the dedication of our members, squadrons, districts, and leadership, we have once again achieved 100% membership for the 31st consecutive year and are on track to celebrate our 31st consecutive all-time high in membership at Convention.

Now is the time to send in your articles, photos, and updates so we can close out the year by highlighting the outstanding work being done throughout the Detachment.

Following Convention, we immediately roll into the annual chaos known as Installation Season, which will keep many of us busy throughout July - and possibly even into early August. Because of this, there will be no July edition published.

The first edition of the new 2026–2027 Service Year will be published on August 1, 2026, and articles for that edition will be due no later than July 15, 2026.

As members of the Sons of The American Legion, this is the perfect time to show a little C.A.R.E. while preparing to focus on the new year’s G.O.A.L.S. - and one of the best ways we can do that is by sharing the stories, accomplishments, and successes of our squadrons.

So before the Convention excitement begins, take a moment to send in your submissions.

Let’s finish the year strong - and keep the stories flowing!

You can submit your articles in one of the following ways:
All Area and District Commanders should be submitting an article each month, as well as all Committee & Commission Chairmen.
Squadron Commanders - You can submit an article too!

This is YOUR Newsletter. We'd like to see more information about what's happening in your areas, districts and squadrons than we would advertisement for events. Highlights of something that your squadrons or a squadron member has done is also encouraged. Highlights will be featured in 'The Source Spotlight'.

We also welcome articles from the rest of our American Legion Family!

For God and Country,
