to Detachment Of Florida, Michael Nigbor, Paul Stawicki, John Jennings

Sent on behalf of Membership Chairman Paul Stawicki, and his membership Committee. You might ask who they are, so I’m going to inform you of that now. They are Vice Commander (Southern) Michael Mathias, Vice Commander (Southwestern) Robert Medley, Vice Commander (Eastern) Danny Roe, Vice Commander (Western) Troy Touchton, Vice Commander (Central) Michael Sherman, and Vice Commander (Northern) Denton Woods. This is your membership committee. If you have questions or concerns these are the people that should have the answers for you. Use your Membership Committee for membership concerns and questions that what they do.

Gentlemen, Good morning. I hope this email finds everyone well. The Detachment is moving along nicely toward our 54th Annual Convention and hope you have already made your plans to attend. It will be another great event with lots of information and most importantly a great celebration of all the work this great Detachment has accomplished this year.

Let’s talk about this week’s membership and where the Detachment stands. We have eight (8) weeks until the gavel drops at Convention. What that means for membership is we have six (6) week until delegate cutoff. That means we have six (6) weeks to transmit 3,281 member cards. I will do the math for you. We most transmit 547 cards weekly on average for the next six (6) weeks to reach Commander Nigbor membership goal of 30,000 members by delegate cutoff. Can we do this? Yes, I believe we can, but not at the pace we have been going over the past three (3) weeks. This week we transmitted 220 cards.  What is going on? We have 1,323 members available in Squadrons below target.

We have the best leadership in this Detachment of any in the Country. Why are we where we are at? Membership is work and it is to be worked everyday by everyone. I’ve heard from people that others have commented that our membership is self-sustaining. That is far from the truth. Membership is work, Membership takes travel, Membership takes great and continued communication, Membership takes devotion, Membership takes complete commitment, and most importantly a desire to be the BEST.  If we are self-sustaining, we will fail.

Let’s look at some at some important numbers:

  • District Leaders
    • District #9 – Jesse Bogle – 103.29%
    • District #8 – Mark Kahn – 102.93%
    • District #12 – Andy Campbell – 101.46%
      • We have three (3) other districts that are over the 100% target. Great work by all these Districts and their staffs. Keep up the great work!

  • Area Leaders
    • Southern – Micheal Mathias – 101.43%
    • Southwestern – Robert Medley – 101.11%
    • Eastern – Danny Roe – 99.41%
      • The race is on for the top place in the area challenge. Who will come out on top? It is up to the Districts to determine that outcome. We shall see.

  1. We need 323 transmittals to reach our 31st Consecutive all time high of 27,042 members. I’m sure we will reach this number very soon.
  2. We need 781 transmittals to reach our 100% National target of 27,500 members. I’m sure we will reach this number very soon also.
  3. We need 1,781 transmittals to reach our 105% National target of 28,500 members. I’m sure we will reach this this number by DELEGATE CUTOFF for our Convention.
  4. We need 3,281 transmittals to reach our Commanders Goal of 30,000. Here lies the issues. Without all hands-on deck and each and everyone work membership this number will become an issue. Make those calls, send those emails, stop by their homes, and get it contact and RENEW these members. It’s important to the Squadron and to the Detachment.

  • We have 34 Squadron at or over the 100% Target.
  • We have 56 Squadrons at or over the 105% Target
  • We have 105 Squadrons that are SHORT of Target. That’s 53.85% of the Detachments Squadrons. Where do we need to focus? On these Squadrons!!!!

I hope that this email gives each of you a good overview of where we are as far as Membership goes today. Each and everyone on US have a JOB to do to REACH our Commanders goal. Let’s get this done! We can do this!

Respectfully submitted,

John Jennings
