Gentlemen, Good morning. I hope this email finds everyone well. The Detachment is moving along nicely toward our 54th Annual Convention and hope you have already made your plans to attend. It will be another great event with lots of information and most importantly a great celebration of all the work this great Detachment has accomplished this year.
Let’s talk about this week’s membership and where the Detachment stands. We have eight (8) weeks until the gavel drops at Convention. What that means for membership is we have six (6) week until delegate cutoff. That means we have six (6) weeks to transmit 3,281 member cards. I will do the math for you. We most transmit 547 cards weekly on average for the next six (6) weeks to reach Commander Nigbor membership goal of 30,000 members by delegate cutoff. Can we do this? Yes, I believe we can, but not at the pace we have been going over the past three (3) weeks. This week we transmitted 220 cards. What is going on? We have 1,323 members available in Squadrons below target.
We have the best leadership in this Detachment of any in the Country. Why are we where we are at? Membership is work and it is to be worked everyday by everyone. I’ve heard from people that others have commented that our membership is self-sustaining. That is far from the truth. Membership is work, Membership takes travel, Membership takes great and continued communication, Membership takes devotion, Membership takes complete commitment, and most importantly a desire to be the BEST. If we are self-sustaining, we will fail.
Let’s look at some at some important numbers:
I hope that this email gives each of you a good overview of where we are as far as Membership goes today. Each and everyone on US have a JOB to do to REACH our Commanders goal. Let’s get this done! We can do this!
Respectfully submitted,

John Jennings
Assistant Adjutant
