Membership Card Update 7/16/26

Yesterday, I enquired to Mark Woodsmall - our New National SAL Liaison - once again about the status of the 2027 Membership Cards and when we would get them. Here is his response:

Mr. Adjutant,

 From what I am seeing they were finished printing on 7/10, sorted on 7/13 and packaged on 7/14. I cannot speak for the GOC folks but I would believe that they may ship either today or tomorrow. I do not see a ship date listed at this time.

To me, this indicates that even if the cards do ship today, they will be sent to Department HQ. Once HQ gets these, they will have to package them up for each squadron and them mail them out. Without a confirmation from Department at this time, this would tell me that we won't receive the membership cards for our squadrons until the first week of August.

THIS DOESN"T MEAN YOU CANNOT PROCESS MEMBERSHIP!

You can still process membership in your myLegion.org portal. You will just have to print the member's card for them. The one caveat is that you will have to wait about 10 days or more until your transmittal processes to do so.

IF THE MEMBER RENEWS THEIR DUES THROUGH THE PORTAL, THEY WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THEIR NEW CARD IMMEDIATELY! (I just verified this)

You should encourage all members to create an account and pay their dues online at  mylegion.org/SAL-Renew. All the member will need to enter is their Member ID and Their last name.

As I get conformation that our cards have been received by Department, I will let you know.
