Gentlemen,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 Membership Year. Let's make this year start off well As we complete our Installations the Squadrons that have had them should at least be showing Membership. Zero Squadrons are unacceptable, if they have been installed. District Commanders this is YOUR responsibility to make sure that the SIR (Squadron Information Report) is completed and that the Officers being installed are paid up for 2027. If you are showing 1 Member paid it had better be the Commander of the Squadron. There will be NO sandbagging of Members because you can put them in as you get them electronically. If you are still mailing in Membership STOP IT and have a fundraiser and buy a laptop or PC.

Let's have fun this year and keep pushing every week for Membership. Work on your RENEWALS as they are your life blood. Find out why they became members and get them engaged with the Squadron and Post activities. Be The One. Maybe that's what they need. Talk to them. Those that you can find and Reinstate those are alway great to bring back into the fold. Get them back to being an active member. You miss them or you better act as if you do. With any current member make sure you introduce or reintroduce yourself and engage with them. Listen to their story about why they joined. GET OF THE BARSTOOL people. This is especially true for New members, TALK to them. District Officers it is up to you to explain or TEACH your Squadron officers why this is important. If you don't help them, who will?  You took the position and now work it. Installations are a great way to get to know your Squadrons; it's their show, help them to shine. Our Theme for 2026-2027 from Commander Nigbor is #SALGoals which stands for Growth, as a person and Squadron.  Opportunity, this is your chance to make a difference, Action, don't just sit there be active be helpful be A Son of The American Legion, and Support our Ideals, our Legion Family, our Veterans and each other.

We are also doing a Baseball theme for a little competition this year. Of course Awards and Prizes to be given so Let's Play Ball.

To start off the Year we have District 4 Commander McKim in 1st Place with 11.75% in Second is District 9 Commander Martin Kraemer back at the Helm with 9.24% and in 3rd is District 2 Commander Michael Mann with 8.25%. Area totals are 1st place Southern Area Vice Commander Michael Mathias with 4.53%. 2nd place Is Northern Area Vice Commander Denton "Shay" Woods with 3.87%. 3rd place is Eastern Area Vice Commander Andy Campbell with 3.69%. Vice Commanders it is your responsibility to find out what problems or concerns are arising in your Areas BEFORE they get out of hand. NO ZERO SQUADRONS after installations are complete. If a Squadron is below minimum strength of 10 Members this must be addressed. Use your counterparts in the Legion to assist you. It benefits them to have healthy happy Squadron Programs. #SALGOALS #BETHEONE #GET'ERDONE #BEASON

Items of Note:

• Commander Michael Nigbor set his Goal at 32000 Membership. Get to work!!!
• 867 Transmittals. This needs to be much higher for us to meet our Goals this year.
• our 1st Target Date is August 27th, 2026 25%
• We only have 4 Squadrons at target at this Posting
• 91 Zero Squadrons
