Senator Moody Appointment to Senate Armed Services Committee
Good afternoon,
I wanted to share an important update that may be of interest to our Legislative Group.
U.S. Senator Ashley Moody has been named to serve on the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services, according to a news release issued on March 26, 2026.
The Senate Armed Services Committee provides oversight of the Department of Defense, military operations, and national defense policy, and plays a central role in developing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Given Florida’s significant military presence—including more than 1.5 million veterans, over 20 military installations, and three combatant commands (SOUTHCOM, CENTCOM, and SOCOM)—this committee assignment is particularly relevant to our state.
As we continue our legislative efforts, this development is worth noting in the context of federal policy impacting service members, veterans, and military infrastructure.
