Hi,

Please send resume with 2 professional references to chai...@xperttech.com

Title:   SQL Database Developer (Specialist)

Location:  Boston, MA

Duration:  8 Months Contract

Person needs to be a SQL Server DB specialist (NOT looking for a web developer/DBA who knows SQL)

Responsibilites / Qualifications:

T-SQL, SSIS, and expertise with all the ways SQL Server handles XML (e.g., XPath, OPENXML, for xml, etc.).

The client has developed a complex analytical database, which relies heavily on XML-based data. This project involves refactoring the database. Tasks will range from standardizing naming conventions used for tables and fields to restructuring T-SQL code to optimize performance, create a more modular architecture, and add new functionality.

Writing clean, well-documented code is essential, because the product (an open source software platform) is the code itself.

The candidate will be working with another database programmer, DBAs, and a .NET web development team.

A computer science or math background would be helpful since this is not a typical transactional system--the T-SQL encodes various natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and simulation algorithms.

XSLT, CSS (cascading style sheets), JavaScript, and AJAX.

Experience with RDF (Resource Description Framework) and semantic web would be helpful.

Flash ActionScript would be nice, but not necessary.

Someone who is an expert on the subtle differences in these technologies between browsers (IE 6-8, Firefox 3+, Safari 3+).

This person would be working with a team of developers who have built an application that uses RESTful XML-based web services.

The responsibilities of this programmer would be to first develop XSLT files to convert the XML returned by these services into various formats, such as HTML and RDF, second implement CSS code to render the UI correctly in different browsers, and third write JavaScript code where appropriate.

Writing clean, well-documented code is essential, because the product (an open source software platform) is the code itself. It takes significant time to keep up-to-date with the latest features in these technologies, and therefore we are

Thanks/Regards,
