I have never seen so much email traffic on the Footy or any
topic...Duh! This means one or two things...first - there is lots of
interest in Footy design, measurements, building, and Secondly: Footy
Rules. If I understand it, at this point for the Florida Footy
Festival Series, if it fits in the box, you can sail legally.
Period. Also, it has been determined that sail rigs can be changed
any time the skipper desires - as long as doing so does not hold up
racing. So far, Butch has kept the rules very civil and for that,
those of us that have sailed in the FFF events, it has never been a
hassle...thus enjoyable. Sailing a 12 inch boat is frustrating
enough! Duh!
I am happy to join this group.
I am recommending that the Vero Beach club hold two Footy
Regattas...one in mid November and one in mid March...NOT FFF
events...but, Regular Regattas - open entries...stand alone events
(Non-series events) but just one-day events...Hopefully, I will let
you know what the decision on this will be...Meantime, good luck
everyone. Regards, GeorgeE Vero Beach

There seems to be lots of interest with the little boat they call
Footy for sure.
Looking forward to you hosting a couple of regattas Geroge. I really
like sailing with your club and your pond.
Reception is always friendly and I always feel like I am part of the
group.
Thanks for your support of this class.

We are having a one day stand alone event in Titusville also.
The event will be on Saturday, October the 3rd. It is not part of the
FFF series.
The FFF4 series will kick off in Sebring on November the 14th so we
are trying to have something in between.
Hope to see ya there.

We'd appreciate the details on your 'event' on October 3rd as they become available.

Always fun to sail against the Titusville gang!

Sure thing Phil. I will send the results as soon as the event is complete.
How are you doing?
Are you staying busy sailing?

In Nov. we plan on starting a new FFF series.
Do you think the Daytona group will be interested in participating.
Dec, Jan, Feb and March are open if you guys want to get in.

cheers

Hey Butch,
Looks to me like Phil seemed interested in joining us at the October
event. The more the merrier!
Phil, I am sure Butch will post the regatta info as soon as he
finalizes all the details. We would love to have you participate in
this event. This is a kind of fill in until later in the fall when the
XFC Footy Series starts.
Hope to meet you soon.
Regards
George Reed

See post before yours.
The invitation has already been made.
The Daytona group participated in the first two series.
Due to low footy membership and Snow Birds leaving they opted out of FFFIII
I asked Phil earlier and he stated the new Commodore was Chris Coxe.
I should ask him so I did and he declined.
Maybe they can join in FFF4.
Daytona has an open invitation to participate and pick a month.
Dec, Jan, Feb or March. Sebring begins the first leg in Nov.

cheers

You're correct Butch that our Footy group has ceased being a 'designated' class. However, we still have a number in the club, and I'd like to see if I can get some of those folks to attend the rallies, even if the club doesn't host one.

So we appreciate staying on the mailing list & getting the details. I'm going to try to make the October 3rd event.

We look forward to seeing some of the Daytona guys at the event.
I will keep you posted of the scores for the events as they happen Phil.
