NOT DEAD...just taking a time out...actually, lots of skippers are really scratching their heads - wondering just how to get the Footy of their dreams on the water and win a few heats...These little boats have really big issues...you know all of them...Duh!  This upcoming season - when the winter folks return, the ranks will swell and there will be more interest in sailing, the Footy.  I am going to start experimenting with rigs and weight placements...if that will not do it, then perhaps another boat...but, of what design?  ...and, thus the silence ...however, I can hear the head-scratching all the way here in Vero Beach...Smiles, GeorgeE

Hi Bill:
No this site is not dead or abondoned.
I think there is just a lull due to the next FFF series beginning in
Nov.
I also think we are all awaiting the outcome of the recent ballots for
the sail rule change.
I noticed the Yahoo USA Footy group is experiencing a bit of a lull
also.
I agree that Yahoo may have a few more options and be more user
friendly.
This this is the second attempt at a message board for the FFF series.
I would hate to ask every one to swap yet another time but if enough
people showed an interest in doing that I will.
I recently cancelled my account with Facebook after receiving a virus.
It was an easy decision due to sharing your opinion of it's actual
usefullness.

The Titusville group will be hosting a Footy Regatta on October 3rd.
We did this to break up the space between the ending of the last
series and the beginning of FFF4.
This has been the longest span without a footy regatta since we began.
I am looking forward to the next event, seems like a long dry spell.
A lot of clubs have Footy skippers that are Snowbirds and would have
missed some of the events if we
started in Sept. So we voted to wait till November to begin.
The event will be hosted by the Tanglewood group in Sebring.

regards
Butch

What a great motivator George. All the really good questions concerning the Footy.
Makes me want to go to the shed and experiment on yet another Footy.
Yes there are lots of problems to solve and lots of designs not yet to hit the water.
Lots of experiments to do with lots of failures and a few successes.
Those few successes driving us to yet more experimenting and waiting for the next Regatta for the final testing of design and theory. Sometimes Theory comes together with success and sometimes failure. Sometimes things that aren't supposed to work on conventional boats proves successful on Footy's.
Designing, testing, tweaking, experimenting...........these are the things that drive us Footy enthusiasts yet to another boat and another discovery.
A multitude of boats, moving in many directions, testing and racing is the core motivator
that drives us to the next regatta with hope and inspiration that our last improvement and idea will be a winner.

Cheers and good luck with the next event.
Butch
