Hello All,

I'm looking to switch from Aspose.com's Cloud API to another service, and I'm most impressed with Ultradox.  But I have a question.

All of our documents are in the .docx format.  Is it possible to nest tables, and if so, to how many levels?  I know it's possible with lists, I just don't see this feature with tables.

Thank you.

Hi,
can you give me some more details?
In which way do you want to nest tables?
In theory we do not have limits regarding the levels of nesting, my main concern is how to get a proper layout...

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I have attached a screenshot of a relevant Word document that I have templated according to Aspose's semantics.

As you can see, we're not doing anything exotic, and this does work fine with Aspose.  This particular document is a two-level document.  We do have some three-level documents.

I do have another question along these lines: With Aspose, I can clean up empty tables.  They have a number of cleanup options: RemoveUnusedRegions, RemoveTitleRow, and others.  If a table is empty, will I be able to completely remove it?

Thank you.

Yes, that looks pretty simple. You can also remove empty tables with a simple enclosing if statement.
Probably an interesting read regarding nested loops:

Wonderful!

My only remaining concern is to what extent we're dependent on Google.  We have Google Apps for Business, but not all of our customers do.

Have you reached the point where both template and merge data can be uploaded to a Web API endpoint, with a PDF response?

Thanks.

This is currently not possible, but I see some value in it. So if you need this feature I could add it for you - if you help me testing it ;-)

Hi Daniel,

Sure, I would be happy to test.  Eliminating the absolute necessity of backend storage will remove the statefulness of requests under the present approach.

Also, do you plan to provide standard HTTP response status codes with each response?
