From a neighbor in the midtown area. About 30 minutes ago my doorbell rang. It took me a while to get to the door and as I approached, the person started messing with my door. I yelled stop, who is it!? I opened the mini blind covering the small window in my door (I never opened the door). He acted startled, then flashed some kind of official looking ID. He said he was with the US Government doing a background check on a former neighbor. I told him to leave, which he did. What disturbed me was it sounded like he was trying to get into my house when I didn't answer promptly.  I called the non emergency number. 

He is a Caucasian male with red hair and a red beard. Medium build, dressed nicely. Carrying a notepad. Please be on the look out.
