Dear Neighborhood Leaders,

On Wednesday evening, October 9, a number of organizations identified with the development community are hosting a
City of Tulsa Mayoral Candidate Forum with Mayor Dewey Bartlett and former Mayor Kathy Taylor. These Community Partners include
AIA Eastern Oklahoma (a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects), the
Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa, the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors,
NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association-Tulsa Chapter), and the
Society for Marketing Professional Services-Oklahoma Chapter. This forum was organized with a mission of crafting a culture of public and private cooperation to re-establish Tulsa as THE regional growth leader. That said,
each organization appreciates the role and importance of grassroots, individual involvement in charting a course for Tulsa’s economic progress, and we cordially invite you and your neighbors to attend.

Forum questions address issues related to planning, permitting, policy, and process which are subjects that neighborhood associations and the development community have in common. Undoubtedly, we are unified in a desire to improve the
quality of life of citizens and the economic vitality of the city. This forum is an opportunity for all in attendance to hear first-hand the candidates’ answers on exactly how they intend to accomplish these objectives. Just as important, it is an opportunity
for members of neighborhood associations and the development community to become better acquainted and learn what issues they have in common vs. those in conflict.

As a former president of the Swan Lake Neighborhood Association and a former chair of the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, many of your names are familiar to me either as friends or acquaintances. I trust you are able to attend
Wednesday’s forum so that we, along with our colleagues, will become better acquainted, personally and with the issues impacting our lives.
