If I Can’t Dance… ANARCHIST CABARET
***Call for Performers!!***
Calling all radical/queer/anticapitalist performers—we are looking for
music acts, short theatre, political puppeteers, drag troupes, spoken
word
artists, radical cheerleaders, bagpipe playing anarchists, jugglers,
baton
twirlers—to take stage in the If I can’t dance…anarchist cabaret.
This cabaret will bring together participants of the anarchist bookfair,
community activists and political performers. The event will showcase
activist performance art by both local and out of town groups,
offering a
space for people to meet, relax and dance (if you wanna).
The If I can’t Dance… anarchist cabaret will be held in downtown
Montreal
on Friday May 19, 2006.
Submissions should include:
a) A short statement about the group, the performance and its relevance
(150-300 words)
b) A brief list of previous performances
Send submissions in .doc or .rtf format to: if_i_ca...@riseup.net
Submission deadline: April 20th, 2006.

Appel à tous les artistes de scène radicaux/queer/anticapitalistes :
nous
sommes à la recherche de numéros musicaux, de sketchs, de
marionnettistes
engagé-e-s, de troupes de drag, d’artistes de spoken word, de majorettes
radicales, de jongleuses/jongleurs, de manieuses/manieurs de bâton, de
cornemuseuses/cornemuseurs anarchistes et d’acrobates pour s’emparer
de la
scène du cabaret anarchiste Si je peux pas danser….
Notre cabaret regroupera des membres du salon du livre anarchiste, des
activistes de la communauté et des artistes engagés. Cette soirée mettra
au premier plan l’art performance activiste d’ici et d’ailleurs,
encourageant l’interaction, la détente et la danse (si vous voulez).
Le cabaret anarchiste Si je peux pas danser… aura lieu au centre-
ville de
Montréal le vendredi 19 mai 2006.
Les propositions comprendront :
a) Un court énoncé descriptif du groupe, du numéro et de son intérêt
(de
150 à 300 mots)
b) Une brève liste de vos performances antérieures
