In honor of the release of its journal, Development (vol. 49, no. 1) in March
2006 on Women's Rights and Development, the Society for International
Development's Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter, in collaboration with the International
Development Research Centre's (IDRC) Gender Unit, would like to invite you to
attend:
Event: A discussion panel on "Governance, Women's Rights and International
Development" featuring:
Dr. Wendy Harcourt, Editor, Development, Senior Advisor, Society
for International Development ( SID), Chair of Women and Development Europe
(WIDE), activist and author.
Julie Delahanty, Senior Policy Advisor, Canadian International
Development Agency (CIDA), guest editor, Development.
Dr. Claudie Gosselin, Coordinator, Gender Unit, International
Development Research Centre (IDRC), lecturer and researcher.
Dr. Cathy Blacklock, Adjunct Research Professor, Institute of
Political Economy, Carleton University, gender and development consultant,
former Senior Researcher, North-South Institute ( NSI).
Date and Time: Monday, April 3rd from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.
Location: International Development Research Centre (IDRC), 14th Floor
250 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
Cost: $5 for SID members, $10 for non-members.
Who should attend this event:
Open to the diplomatic, research, policy and international development
practitioner communities in Ottawa-Gatineau, as well as members of the general
public with an interest in issues related to governance, international
development, globalization, transnational feminism, gender equality and women's
human rights.
