Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch and the Preamble Center for Public
Policy are organizing an Roadshow on the Multilateral Agreement on
Investment (MAI) in December to San Diego, Los Angeles and Denver
(Colorado). We are working with local groups such as the California
Fair Trade Campaign, the Alliance for Democracy, the Sierra Club,
the Colorado Progressive Coalition and many others, to shed light
on this controversial investment agreement that has been negotiated
through the Organization for Economic Corporation and
Development (OECD) since 1995.

We will also focus on the broader globalization issues
such as the Asian Financial Crises, the IMF Bailout,
Clinton's Free Trade Agenda (and the recent defeats
of this, such as the Fast Track vote in the House and
the fact that the NAFTA for Africa Bill and the Caribbean
Basin's NAFTA Expansion couldn't be brought to a vote
in the Senate).

YOU are invited to help organize, participate and to
spread the word about these exciting events!
IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN ANY OF THESE CITIES, MAYBE
YOU KNOW SOMEONE THERE THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED....

Here's the program:

IN SAN DIEGO:

Corporate Power Abuse
GLOBALIZATION & WHAT'S AT STAKE FOR SAN DIEGO

Multinational corporations are writing the rules of the global
economy-- NAFTA, GATT and now the most dangerous of all,
the Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI). These
rules enable corporations to do business where they want,
how they want and with no regard to their local impact. The MAI
would enable corporations to sue governments in their own trade
courts and overturn local, state and federal laws -- yet few people
have ever heard of it. Please join us to learn more about
corporate globalization and what's at stake for San Diego.
