volunteers needed - Folk Festival

I am looking for volunteers to assist with a bike parking compound at
the Ottawa Folk Festival this year, August 21-24 in Britannia Park. If
you are a CfSC memeber, you'll see this notice in the most recent Chain
Mail, sent out this week. If you've ever been to the Folk Fest, you'll
know that cycling is the only way to go, and now you'll have someplace
to leave your bike! Anyone who attended HOPE beach volleyball in the
last few years will see that this bicycle parking is modeled on what
they do at Mooney's Bay. Please also see

for an idea of what the setup will look like.
We ask that volunteers commit to doing 3 shifts over the weekend. In
exchange, you will receive a weekend pass to the festival! There will be
multiple volunteers on duty for each shift (ideally 4) so you will have
company, and someone to relieve you so you can take a break. Consider
signing up with a friend. Duties will involve greeting patrons, tagging
bikes, taking donations and supervising the perimeter.
This is a pilot project that we hope can be modeled at all outdoor
festivals in the future so we really need your help to make it a success.
Patrons using the compound will be asked to donate $2 for the service,
and all proceeds raised will be shared between CfSC and the Pathway
Patrol, who are also assisting with the event.
