"This month, Haligonians have a chance to reclaim our identity as lovers of the many
qualities of streets. On Sunday, April 23, HRM will be closing to cars the stretch of
Cogswell Street by the Commons for the first Halifax Open Streets event. From 10
a.m. to 3 p.m., the street will be teeming with walkers, cyclists, runners, inline skaters,
wheelchair users and even stilt-walkers! The event is hosted by the Ecology Action
Centre with enthusiastic participation from many quarters."
