The Hintonburg Community Association will be holding a public meeting on
the Gladstone Avenue reconstruction:

Wednesday, March 15
7:30 p.m.
Hintonburg Community Centre, 1064 Wellington
Wellington Room

Members of the board of the HCA and City officials with knowledge of the
project will be present to share information and answer your questions.

The design project limits extend from Melrose Avenue in the west to Booth
Street in the east. As part of this work, the City will be constructing
new sewers, watermains, pavement, and sidewalks. Street lighting will also
be upgraded to current City standards.

The project plans identifying the City's recommended design are available
at the Rosemount Library at 18 Rosemount. Any comments concerning the
design must be received by the City in writing by March 24, 2006 in order
to be considered.

The City intends to undertake the project in two phases over two years.
Gladstone Avenue between Melrose and Bayswater is scheduled for
construction in 2006. Gladstone Avenue between Bayswater and Booth Street
is scheduled for construction in 2007.

Cyclists should ensure that the road will be sufficiently wide for a safe
shared lane, since this is a major designated cycling route. You may also
want to look at issues like traffic signal timing (Booth/Preston in
particular) to ensure it works for cyclists.
