06 Ingrowing toenail
My sister (Tumay O. Onem, ozka...@hotmail.com) who lives in Turkey
suffers from the ingrowing big toenail. The nail already lost
the real shape
and the original color. She says that it is so painful. She is
a dentist and
therefore the working conditions are not so helpful for her.
She does not
want the doctor to take the nail.
Maybe it is not only ingrowing toenail but
also some kind of disease. Thank you for your help.

Answer by Dr. Peter K. Glaser PhD, Mag.pharm

Ingrowing toenails can happen if the toenails are cut in a round
form. Or there is a disease called yeast infection. In my
opinion there is a yeast infection because of losing the
original color. So she should go to the doctor to treat this.
