Carpeting Tab:
User input boxes
-Total Square Feet: The total square footage of the area in which you
will be installing the flooring.
-Carpet Cost/Unit: The cost per selected unit (See Below) of the
carpeting you are interested in.
-Pad Cost/Unit: The cost per selected unit (See Below) of the padding
you are interested in.
-Waste Factor: The typical amount of extra flooring you should
purchase to account for cutting pieces to get them to fit in your
area. A default, recommended, amount is pre-entered for you, but is
changeable.
-Include Pad (checkbox): Selects whether or not to include the cost of
padding in the calculation.
-Square Yards/Square Inches: Selects the unit of measurement the
carpet and padding are sold by. (i.e. cost per sq. yd. or sq. ft.)
Results Boxes
-Total Square Yards: If the carpeting you are interested in is sold by
the sq. yd, this field will display the total square yardage of the
area you are carpeting based on the total sq. ft. you input.
-Total Cost: The total cost of purchase for the number of square units
of carpet you need.
Tile Tab:
User input boxes
-Cost per Unit: If you are buying tiles that are sold individually,
enter the cost per tile; if they are sold in a package, enter the cost
per package.
-Tiles per Unit: If you are buying tiles that are sold individually,
enter 1; if they are sold in a package, enter the number of tiles in
the package.
-Cost per Unit (Brd): This field applies to border tiles and is
optional as long as the border tile checkbox is not checked. If you
are buying tiles that are sold individually, enter the cost per tile;
if they are sold in a package, enter the cost per package.
-Tiles per Unit (Brd): This field applies to border tiles and is
optional as long as the border tile checkbox is not checked. If you
are buying tiles that are sold individually, enter the cost per tile;
if they are sold in a package, enter the cost per package.
-Area (L): Enter the length of the area to be tiled. (Units are
determined by the radio buttons below)
-Area (W): Enter the width of the area to be tiled. (Units are
determined by the radio buttons below)
-Tile (L): Each tiles length. This field is for the main tiles, see
below for border tiles.
-Tile (W): Each tiles width. This field is for the main tiles, see
below for border tiles.
-B. Tile (L): Each border tiles length. B. Tile = Border Tile which
are the tiles to be laid around the perimeter of your tiling area, if
desired. The border tile fields are optional, as long as the border
tile checkbox is not checked.
-B. Tile (W): Each border tiles width. B. Tile = Border Tile which
are the tiles to be laid around the perimeter of your tiling area, if
desired. The border tile fields are optional, as long as the border
tile checkbox is not checked.

-Sq. In. (Area)/Sq. Ft. (Area): Select the radio button to select the
units used to measure the area to be tiled.
-Sq. In (Tiles)/Sq. In (Tiles): Select the radio button to select the
units of measurement for the tiles and the border tiles.
-Include Border: Select or deselect this checkbox to determine whether
or not border tiles will be included in the calculation.
