Two official expansion packs were released for Heroes III. The first of these expansions, Armageddon's Blade, introduced a ninth town alignment,[8] the Conflux; a random scenario generator, a variety of new creatures, heroes, and structures; and six new playable campaigns.

A fan-made expansion, In the Wake of Gods (also titled Heroes 3.5), was released in 2001. It adds new creatures, including eighth level creatures and "God's representatives", which give bonus to heroes' primary skills. Heroes can also destroy and rebuild towns.[9]

Heroes of Might and Magic III: In the Wake of Gods (WoG) is an unofficial expansion pack to the Heroes of Might and Magic III:The Shadow of Death game. You must have Heroes III Shadow of Death installed prior to installing the expansion.

In the Wake of Gods is a free unofficial expansion designed to allow the addition of scripts via the Event Related Model (ERM). Some of the enhancements that WoG brings to the table are much needed, basic features missing from the original game-play such as a "purchase all creatures" button, the quick combat option, etc. as well as some medium-level additions such as the Artificer, a new structure for upgrading, combining and changing items, new bonuses for artifacts, skills and so on, while other additions allow some fairly radical game-play changes, such as adding creature stack experience, a third level of upgrade for creatures, etc.

In October 1999, the game received the Armageddon's Blade expansion, featuring new creatures, heroes, campaigns and the Conflux town. It was followed by The Shadow of Death in March 2000, with its own set of new creatures, heroes and campaigns. The Shadow of Death is a standalone release by default and includes Armageddon's Blade content, but can only access it if that expansion is installed as well. Official patches maintained feature and balancing parity between all aforementioned releases.

In the Wake of Gods is an unofficial fan-made expansion developed by WoG Team. It introduces level 8 creatures, new resource (mithril), commander units and many other changes. The expansion was released February 15, 2001.

Heroes of Might and Magic 2 is one of the best fantasy turn-based strategy games of all time, overshadowed only by its successor, whose active modding scene has produced excellent HD mods and unofficial expansion packs. But Heroes 2 has hardly been abandoned: The ongoing Fheroes2 project, which was begun over a year ago, is on course to deliver the definitive Heroes 2 experience.

Enter The Legend of Zelda: Second Wind - A Breath of the Wild Expansion. What originally started out as a group of smaller, individual mods for minimal changes to Nintendo's epic, such as replacing out-of-bounds chests, has ballooned into one of the biggest mods I've ever seen. In fact, it's a little unfair to call Second Wind purely a "mod" and not an unofficial expansion pack, because it's bigger than either of the two officially sanctioned DLC packs Breath of the Wild originally received shortly after its launch in 2017.

This creature is slightly odd seeing as she isn't human but speaks and moves and even cries so we can assume a certain amount of intelligence. She is also able to translate the blood echos into personal power for the Hunter. This bit of info leads us to believe she is very very powerful and there is a good deal of speculation (but very little concrete evidence) that a Great one or some other form of Eldritch being actually gives the doll life by inhabiting it.
The best evidence we have is on the Caryll Moon Rune stating "The Great Ones that inhabit the nightmare are sympathetic in spirit, and often answer when called upon." So either the Moon Presence gave her life or she is inhabited by a weaker (but still powerful) underling or servant. The Doll also prays to the dream, to the flowers, to the moon, to the messengers even as well as the ancients to guard the hunter and let him/her have a "pleasant awakening".
This hearkens back to real world religions like the greeks, egyptians, the native americans, or any other polytheistic religion which basically follows the idea of praying to multiple spirits/gods/holy things (Like the Chalices for instance) we can make a stab at guessing that the Great Ones are like gods given their power and the Doll knows their power (assuming she was given life by the moon presence or is posessed by a lesser Eldritch being/Great One)
(As for the role the messengers play in trading for insight or how this works into the third ending are beyond me, but if someone makes a future edit. Please edit the lore should you find the details.)
