Hi all,

Micheal Bennett, a very accomplished and knowledgeable captain, has decided to bring his 46ft boat to the festival.  His boat brings with it a lot of sleeping space.  He can both provide sleeping space at the event as well as bring along a crew on his sailing journey from Oakland to the event site.  If you're interested in either of these options, contact me.  (He's about to head out on a multiday expedition in which he will be disconnected from the internet)

Please read the info below for more details on what you would need to bring:

Hello to everyone, I just got off the phone with Matt B. and he
encouraged me to post here about sailing up to the festival with my
boat FAN. First I guess would be to tell a little about FAN. She's a
46' ketch and my home. I have lots of room to spare and some good
gear. I am still doing some upgrades and such but FAN is very stout
and sea worthy. I have bunks for 3 plus a double. There is room to
sleep on deck for another 10 ish plus a hammock. If other people bring
small (think back packing style) hammocks I could rig maybe 2 more
(yeah BIG boat). What I want is people to crew the boat who really
want to sail. Emergency crash space is OK once we are there but it
would be nice to have help sailing the boat there and motoring back to
the bay. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. In fact if you really want to sail,
and have a deep desire to see what it's like cruising an ocean going
sail boat and no experience you could go to the top of the list. I
will be going out on the coast to do some fishing and SCUBA for the
next week or so and will be out of touch for that time. Talk to Matt
Bell and I will be back before the event to catch up. Ideally I would
like to go up river before the event say leave Tue 6/6 and sail the
whole way up. The operating cost of the main engine is around $200 a
day, donations are gratefully accepted, no one turned away for lack of
funds. I will likely pick people up at Jack London Square in Oakland.
Although it is possible to make stops along the way to the event. Crew
will be limited to 5 persons with much more crash space. If people can
donate a day or more to cleaning and minor repairs the would be
lovely. Donations of paint and painting are always welcome...

Micheal
