Does anyone know where the probate records for 1945-1955 are held. I have been through the probate court, the State Archives, the Gov. office for open government and so many more places and NO ONE seems to know where I can access copies of the probates from that time period.I am looking for a probate for a Maggie English (MAGEE) TYLER, she died in 1945 in Dade Co.Her nephews received a letter stating they were named in her will, went to Florida to meet with the lawyer. Since neither of those 2 nephews is living I need to get a copy of the actual probate to see the settlement of the estate. The woman at the Dade Co. probate office told me that all records before 1960 were lost -REALLY? No one in the Florida government, county, state, library, etc. has a clue where I need to go to request a copy of a record. HELP!! I have been at this for over 1 month - and still have no answer. Please help!! Marcia

Welcome to Miami. There is an archival storage area but I'm not sure how to access it. Have someone who speaks Spanish fluently and you might be  able to find out more.
