I am searching for any history about my ggggrandmother who moved to
Florida around 1840. Her name is Barbara Brazeale Rogers (Mrs. John
Rogers). I know that her children and grandchildren owned land on the
north side of Norris Lake. One record indicates that she was buried
"near" Apopka. I have confirmed burial sites on her son Middleton D.
Rogers (Ponceannah at Paisley) and her daughter Eliza Anne Rogers
Jerkins (Ochwilla Baptist Church), and good records for the other
children. I can not however find records for Barbara. I have visited
the State Archives at Tallahassee, but to no avail. Any suggestions
on how to carry this search further backwards?

Dear WRO404,

could Mrs Barbara Brazeale Rogers have gone "home" to be buried next to her folks? You said she "came" to FL abt.1840. I will ask around some old timers about this near Apopka cite.
I have been to Lake Norris many times.... this is a remote area today....100 years ago it must have been even more so.
Moving someone for burial someone 80-100 years ago seems a big, costly project?
What are your thoughts....email me anytime.
