Hi Nastaran,

The Lepton is a small core unit that you will need to do all the work for - put it in a device, write code, test and deploy. Depending on the version of the core you can have a “radiometric” version or not, but you’ll still need to do some calibration.

Ax8, A400 (also A70, A700 etc) are both products, you can plug and play them onto your application directly and set up I/O etc using their web pages or FLIR software etc.

There is also a FLIR Photon, which is a small camera that is more finished than a lepton but you still need to write code etc (FLIR does have a GUI).

It really depends on whether you want to build your own solution or use a readymade unit off the shelf.

What is the difference between Thermal Automation and Science cameras, such as AX8, A400,   and  Flir Lepton?

I am looking to detect the heat movement, which one would you recommend?

Either the lepton or the Photon have an SDK that will work. The cheapest would be a Lepton, but you’ll need additional components - have a look at the GroupGets site for the various options

Thanks for the explanation, I need a camera that has an easy interface with the computer, I want to use python/cpp to process the video stream that is coming from the camera.
Which option would you prefer? I do not need a ready web UI application.

Ax8 is a product- it’s a gigE camera system with its own web page etc. my impression was that you wanted to use python etc to develop your own?
