Just got a PureThermal-2/Lepton 3.5 and am having trouble running the opencv-capture.py example: https://github.com/groupgets/purethermal1-uvc-capture/blob/master/python/opencv-capture.py

I get the following error:

Testing for presense of camera #2...

OpenCV: out device of bound (0-1): 2

OpenCV: camera failed to properly initialize!

Testing for presense of camera #1...

Running, ESC or Ctrl-c to exit...

It doesn't recognze the lepton and just opens the built-in webcam

If I specifically call the lepton (e.g. cv2_cap = cv2.VideoCapture(1)), I get a similar error:

[ERROR:0] global /private/var/folders/24/8k48jl6d249_n_qfxwsl6xvm0000gn/T/pip-req-build-tetsazc6/opencv/modules/videoio/src/cap.cpp (291) open VIDEOIO(AVFOUNDATION): raised unknown C++ exception!

I've tried installing the groupgets libuvc but that fails too when I try to run cmake..

Any ideas?

BTW the camera works just fine with the MacOS GetThermal app.

Thanks,

Carlos
