Initial Assignment: CANADAPTT Project
Position Description:
The Addictions Program is currently recruiting a full-time Manager to assume responsibility for administrative operations of the CANADAPTT Project in the Nicotine Dependence Clinic. This will include coordinating supervising the project team, managing human resources, monitoring and analysing budgetary and statistical data, monitoring policies and procedures, and implementing process and quality improvements. As part of the Nicotine leadership team, you will be expected to work collaboratively with the other Nicotine projects and the clinical service. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable standards and requirements. This position is located at 175 College St.Major duties include: Oversee the evaluation of the project, finalization of the guideline development process, manage any research activities; assist in the planning and development of a dissemination plan; prepare and submit quarterly narrative and financial reports to Health Canada as well as manuscripts for publications; liaise and maintain relationship with external partners and associations. The Project Manager is also responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the website and online collaboration.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Masters Degree in a related field e.g., Health Administration, Public Health, Knowledge Translation. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Specialized knowledge of tobacco and smoking cessation is necessary. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise the work activities of others and to provide leadership, in addition to excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as excellent writing skills. The ability to work with persons of diverse ethnoracial and cultural backgrounds is also required. The ability to manage budgetary and statistical data and knowledge of human resource management practices in a unionized environment is also required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Outreach Coordinator
Terms: One year contract, 23 hours per week

The Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton (SAVIS) is dedicated to ending sexual violence and fostering a safe, supportive, just and equitable society. In cooperation with other Centre staff, this position is responsible for outreaching to, providing support and maintaining an on-going relationship with diverse and marginalized women and communities/institutions in the Halton Region.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Maintain a relationship with diverse and marginalized communities and institutions in the Halton Region;
§ Build relationships with various sectors: youth, seniors, women, schools, faith-based organizations, and academic institutions serving marginalized and diverse women in Georgetown;
§ Design and deliver programming that responds to the needs of women from diverse and marginalized communities who have experienced violence or are at risk of experiencing violence in Georgetown;
§ Cofacilitate the Spanish speaking drop-in program on Tuesday afternoons in Burlington;
§ Design and deliver presentations to the community, schools and agency members on SAVIS services, anti-oppression and related topics;
§ Coordinate SAVIS’s outreach initiatives, including Back to School Drive, Holiday Drive and Summer Picnic;
§ Participate in shared group job description;
§ Maintain necessary statistical records and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ A strong understanding of sexual violence from an integrated anti-racist, feminist, anti-oppression
§ perspective;
§ Minimum of 2 years experience outreaching to and providing peer support counselling to marginalized and diverse women who have experienced violence and multiple systems such as social housing, child protection, family/criminal justice legal proceedings, medical processes or police reporting;
§ Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and use a consensus building approach;
§ Demonstrated experience working with staff, community partners and clients from diverse and
§ marginalized communities;
§ Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
§ A language other than English and French is required;
§ Related post secondary education is an asset.

Victim Services of Peel offers crisis intervention, critical stress debriefing, short-term counselling, court support, information, and referrals for people who have been victimized by crime or tragic circumstances. Counsellors and trained volunteers provide 24-hour support based upon principles of empowerment and prevention through education and advocacy.
We have an opening for a full-time Crisis Intervention Counselor. As a member of the counseling team and working with various volunteers, this individual will be responsible for:
· Providing crisis support services to persons who have been victimized, through crime or circumstance, either via the telephone or in person (office/scene attendance).
· Responding to requests from Peel Regional Police and other community services for victim assistance, often at a crime scene, hospital, police division, etc.
· Assessing the critical care needs of persons immediately following their victimization and facilitating referrals to community-based services. Follow-up contacts will ensure a client’s safety and address their requests for additional support services.
· Criminal court support to crime victims at bail hearings.
Qualifications:
· University or college degree in the human services field
· 3 years relevant experience
· Demonstrated counseling skills
· Ability to offer counselling services from a feminist perspective, while also drawing upon other relevant theoretical orientations to victimization and traumatization
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Sound knowledge of issues pertaining to woman abuse, post-traumatic stress, and the criminal justice system
· Ability to work flexible hours
· Computer literate
· Second language an asset
· A successful criminal background check is required
