Surfing/Fishing Pokemon are generated through Method J/K (J in DPP, K in HGSS). Pokemon caught while Surfing have a starting frame of 3; Pokemon caught while Fishing have a starting frame of 4. Note that in modern versions of the RNG Reporter, these starting frames are taken into account, effectively making the starting frame 1 for both if the proper encounter method is selected. The main differences between them and a regular capture are:
Sound effects are most often added into the movie post production. Many times when filming a scene with multiple actions going on at the same time, such as dialogue, sword fighting and other background action, sound effects are added post production to make the effect louder.
In a theatre, watch the beginning scene of Cyrano de Bergerac. There are different people speaking at the same time and murmurings of a crowd. Much of this sound would have to be added in later to make it as effective and clear as it is in the movie.
Ambient noises are background noises that are in a room, a house, outside, or any given location.54 Every location has distinct and subtle sounds created by its environment. Ambient noises are types of sound effects.
The sound of the coins in the pouch at the beginning of Cyrano de Bergerac is a very important sound because it makes a sound as though there are a lot of coins in the pouch. For this effect, the ambient noise would have to be added in post-production, because that sound would not be able to be heard when filming the scene.
A soundtrack is an audio recording created or used in film production or post-production.55 Initially, the dialogue, sound effects, and music in a film have their own separate tracks (dialogue track, sound effects track, and music track), and these are mixed together to make what is called the composite track, which is heard in the film.56
AsSatoshi-tachi are checkingout the nearest Pokemon Center, teaching Haruka about the various JoiandJunsa in the world, the Rocket-Dan continues to follow the group. As the trio watches the young trainers, they slip and fall into a partof the forest where a cage lies. Inside the cage is a bunch ofArbo, and Musashi's Arbok convinces the team to rescue them. The cage seemstobe unbreakable, and before the cage can be opened the Pokemon HunterRyoenters the scene. Ryo is a famous Pokemon Hunter who has beenhiredto capture a bunch of poison-type pokemon, including a group of Dogasuhe has in another cage. Seeing Musashi-tachi's efforts to freehislatest captures, he demands that they hand over THEIR pokemon, but theywon't hear it. After a battle in which Ryo's Sangirasu sends thetrio blasting off, Ryo continues his hunt. Once the Rocket-Danland,they are soon chased by a flock of Spear until a nearby Sabonea scaresthem away. Kojirou thanks the little cactus pokemon by giving ita bag of food before the group runs off to try to find Ryo again. They soon catch up to the Pokemon Hunter and another battleensues. During the struggle, Nyasu is able to open the cage containing the Arboand Dogasu as Musashi-tachi distract Ryo. Soon, the SangirasuthatRyo sends out evolves into Bangirasu, and Musashi-tachi plead withtheirArbok and Matadogasu to take the Arbo and Dogasu and flee tosafety. As Musashi, Kojirou, and Nyasu fight off the Bangirasu without the aidof any pokemon, Arbok and Matadogasu tearfully do as they aretold. After being defeated, the Rocket-Dan are left by Ryo as he tries totrackdown his freed pokemon. He doesn't get too far when Junsa, withthehelp of Satoshi-tachi, manage to stop Ryo and defeat him. AsJunsahas Ryo arrested, Musashi-tachi sadly trudge along without two of theirpokemon. Suddenly, the Sabonea from before appears and lets theRocket-Danknowthat it wants to join them, so Kojirou catches the Sabonea. Now,with their old friends gone and a new friend by their side, theRocket-Dancontinue their journey.
DialogueEdit
First off--what'swith thevoices for all the poison-type pokemon? Ekans, Koffing, andWeezingall sounded terrible in this episode. It was similar to watchingthe first episode of Season Three of Dragon Ball Z, where weweresubjected to Sean Schemmel trying his best to imitate Ian Corlett /PeterKelamis, or Chris Sabat trying to imitate Brian Drummond'sVegeta. It didn't work for that show, and it doesn't work for this oneeither. If the voice actors were sick or something, then they should havechangedthe schedule around and worked on another episode until they gotbetter, because this is the one episode where you DON'T have sound-alikesfillingin for important characters.
Sound Edit
During Bangirasu'sattackon Musashi-tachi, we hear this really great piece of dramatic musicthatisn't used too often (I don't think it's ever been used in the dub, butit was last used during the flashback in the Japanese version of "GottaCatch Ya Later" and isn't available on any soundtrack, as far as Iknow) while the sound effects from the battle are heard. In thedubbedversion, 4Kids replaces the music with several different pieces (theoriginalsong is quite long) while getting rid of the sound effects altogether.
So, why was thisdone? It's not like we haven't heard the sounds of explosions in the showbefore,so why the edit? The only thing I can think of is that maybe4Kidsthought it would sound better if they just played their music withoutthesound effects--y'know, in an effort to fool themselves into believingthatthey know the best way to score a scene.
I just noticed this recent article that talks about two things that the 5th generation Pokemon games should address. Specifically, the article calls for a feature that would help players keep track of a particular Pokemon's IVs and EVs, as well as better sound effects and music. Just thought I'd let everyone know. --SoCalSuperEagle (talk) 18:31, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
