flipper impacting existing VIPs

Hi,

I have active VIPs handling traffic on my database servers and am
testing flipper against a new set of VIPs and it appears that flips
from the primary to the failover are impacting traffic on the live
VIP. ifconfig for the test scenario is:

eth0 - configured interface
eth0:0 - live VIP
eth0:1 - flipper write IP
eth0:2 - flipper read IP

When I issue a flipper swap to the failover node traffic on eth0:0 is
disrupted and I see connection errors in my app logs during the time
it takes the swap to execute. What is flipper doing to eth0:0 that
would be impacting the live VIP?
