Based on your experience with implementing a flipped classroom structure, what resources would you recommend?

YouTube is my go-to for all things PE.  I usually pull videos from YouTuber PE teachers like Joey Feith, Coach Gelardi, and Carl Condliffe.  I think switching it up (among different PE teachers) is helpful, since some students like a certain style/teacher better than others.

Hey Karen!

Thanks for sharing!  I can definitely relate- I use College Board's videos for my AP CS classes and within those banks of videos, there are several different presenters.  I've noticed that my students like the rotation of speakers, since they all have a different way of presenting the material and it keeps things fresh.

I found when flipping a classroom YouTube, Edpuzzle, Brainpop, Symbaloo, and Google Classroom are all very effective. I used YouTube for educational videos to send home with students for homework or as kind of a prerequisite. Edpuzzle and Brainpop were used to watch videos and take short quizzes to check for understanding or set the week for background knowledge. Symbaloo is where we added websites and resources for small group and research purposes. We used Google Classroom because of Covid-19 and we were virtual.

Thanks, Shameka!  I'm definitely going to look into some of these that you mentioned.  I've never even heard of Symbaloo!

Yes.  Keeping it fresh is the way to go.  We don't want the kids getting bored with the videos, or it won't work!

I haven't heard of Symbaloo either!  I will check at one out as well.  Thanks, Shameka!

As we share resources, I do want to highlight the lists I have found to be helpful while planning/implementing a flip:

Edutopia has a great short list for beginners.  Think of it as a great starting place that isn't overwhleming with tons of options!

Common Sense Media's list is a better fit for our seasoned flippers, as it presents a solid list of various types of software available to enhance your flipped environment.
