Haven't yet made the flip?

If you're joining us here, but haven't implemented a flipped classroom, we want to hear from you!

- Have you ever considered flipping your class or a subject you teach?

- If so, do you have any hesitancies or concerns?

I haven't made the switch, but it is something I have considered. I am just starting off as a 10th/11th grade teacher for history/global studies. I honestly don't know very much about a flipped classroom and I am curious to learn more about how it works and the ways in which it is successful in pushing student's level of education. 

I do have concerns regarding the flipped classroom, particularly around committing to flipping my classroom and the restructuring that might entail and then the disruption it could cause should it not work.

I know you used to teach middle school- how exciting to be moving into the upper school!  Congrats on the new position!  I hope this PLN helps orient you to considering the flipped classroom structure and feel more confident implementing it when you feel ready!

This year, actually, I shifted one of my 6 classes away from the flipped structure.  It just wasn't a good fit for that particular group of students and I felt it was important to "get it right" by revert back to more traditional methods in order to best serve them.  That transition was smooth, since many of my students were wanting that more traditional setting.  I wouldn't worry too much if the flip doesn't end up working out!

I haven't made the flip either.  I'm a new teacher, this is my 3rd year, so I feel like I'm still getting me bearings on teaching generally speaking.  But now that I have this PLN, I feel a lot more prepared.

I haven't tried it yet because I really didn't know about it!  Know that I have the infomation, I feel a lot better about giving it a try next year.

I also have not flipped before, but am very interested in learning more and want to prepare well before I give it a try.  I feel like this PLN will provide me with the tools I need in order to set myself up for success.
