Alarge windscreen at the front offers an increased field of view to the crew. A door with a bulletproof window is provided on either side of the protected crew cabin to facilitate entry and exit of the operators.
The Belrex vehicle is armed with a 7.62mm remotely operated machine gun to provide close fire support against small armoured targets and military personnel. The weapon is remotely operated by the crew inside the vehicle.
The Belrex-protected wheeled vehicle can be configured to play a number of roles, including security, combat engineer, reconnaissance, logistics, fuel, mortar, medical, signal, maintenance, and mortar ammunition carrier.
The security variant is provided with rear step bumpers to facilitate quick ingress and egress for infantrymen, while the combat engineer version is fitted with a push bar at the front to remove obstacles of up to 1t. The fuel variant is used for refuelling two vehicles simultaneously using the onboard fuel dispenser.
The mortar variant of the Belrex PCSV comes with a 120mm advanced mortar system for providing increased fire support. Equipped with an ammunition carriage system, the mortar ammunition carrier variant is aimed at supplying mortar ammunition.
The Marauder[1] is an armoured, mine-protected vehicle that is produced by Paramount Group in South Africa. It was launched during the 2007 International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and Conference in Abu Dhabi, the largest arms exhibition in the Middle East.[2][3][4]
The Marauder payload capacity allows for the fitting of various defense and weapons systems, including light and medium-caliber machine guns, cannon weapon installations, and missile launchers, as well as command-surveillance-control systems. The vehicle can be configured so mortars may be fired from the payload platform.[6]
In 2008, for the manufacturing and production of the Marauder, the Paramount Group entered into an agreement with the King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau (now Jordan Design and Development Bureau), Jordan's primary governmental military agency that develops and manufactures defence systems,[7] and which serves as an independent technical advisor to the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF). As well as being a manufacturer, Jordan was the first customer for the Marauder.[8]
Kazakhstan Engineering makes the Marauder under licence as the Arlan under the joint-venture Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering after their announcement in 2018.[citation needed] In the same year, they announced 70% of their radios and remote-control weapon-stations were local-made.[12]
The Marauder is manufactured in Singapore by ST Engineering in collaboration with Paramount[14] and the Defence Science and Technology Agency.[15] This was based on a 2012 agreement with Paramount to work together in manufacturing and marketing the vehicle.[16]
The variants made under the Belrex label consist of security, engineer, reconnaissance, logistics, fuel, medical, signal, maintenance, and ammunition & mortar carrier.[17] The base platform comes in three basic crew compartment sizes: four, eight and ten.[18]
The Singapore Army has commissioned a new all-terrain self-propelled mortar system based on its in-service 44 Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle (PCSV), designated Belrex PCSV (Mortar), on 28 June.
The vehicle is protected against small arms fire and mine blasts, and is fitted with the ST Engineering Land Systems Super Rapid Advanced Mortar System Mk II (SRAMS Mk II), which is armed with a 120 mm smoothbore mortar mounted in an armoured rear cabin.
The Belrex Protected Vehicle is a multi-mission, multi-role family of platforms customised for urban combat missions. A rigid V-shaped hull enhances crew survivability against ballistic, mine and IED threats. High mobility, adaptability, heavy payload and network capabilities enable Infantry Forces to bring the entire combat resources to sustain fights in non-linear battle spaces. Classified as MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) class, the four-wheeled armoured vehicle provides motorised infantry combat support and combat service support forces with improved firepower, protection and situational awareness to enhance their survivability. It is highly flexible, and can be configured to carry combat loads for a variety of combat support and logistical functions. The BM provides a higher level of ballistic protection, which can withstand small arms ammunition of up to 7.62mm and fragmentation from explosives. It also has a 120mm Advanced Mortar System (AMS) mounted on a BELREX Protected Combat Support Vehicle (PCSV). Jointly developed by the Singapore army, the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and the Land Systems business of local defence prime ST Engineering

The Belrex Protected Vehicle, with ten variants - security, engineer, reconnaissance, logistics, fuel, mortar, medical, signal, maintenance and mortar ammunition carrier - serves as a key asset to armed forces and para military, offering protected mobility transport for combat and non-combat operational requirements.
In addition to a remote machine gun and a smoke grenade launcher, the vehicle also has provisions for a suite of C4 systems, enabling co-operative engagement with other land combat platforms as part of a networked force.

ST Engineering is a global technology, defence and engineering group specialising in the aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine sectors. The Group employs about 22,000 people across offices in Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Headquartered in Singapore, ST Engineering reported revenue of S$6.62b in FY2017.
Paramount Group is the African-based global defence and aerospace business. The family of APC and combat vehicles which has been developed from clean-sheet design is at the vanguard of armoured vehicle technologies. These vehicles have been designed and developed to meet the increasing demand for multi-role, high mobility, and mine hardened platforms, providing a solution to the ever-changing demands of the global battlefield.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen visited Headquarters of the 6th Singapore Division/Headquarters Sense and Strike (HQ 6 Div/HQ SS) at Mandai Hill Camp on 28 June and viewed a static display of some of the newly commissioned platforms of HQ SS.
The PCSV is fitted with a single FN MAG 7.62mm machine gun in a remote-controlled weapon station. The vehicles can be configured to carry modular loads weighing up to 4 tons such as mortars, battalion casualty stations or combat supplies.
The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) commissioned the Paramount Marauder on 25 November 2016, this new platform known locally as the Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle (PCSV). The Belrex platform was developed for the SAF by the Defence Science and Technology Agency and ST Kinetics.
The Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle (PCSV) provides motorised infantry combat support and combat service support forces with improved firepower, protection and situational awareness to enhance their survivability. This will enhance the Armys precision maneuver capabilities. The Belrex PCSV will ultimately replace most of the five-tonne trucks and MB290 vehicles of the motorised forces.
Unlike conventional soft-skinned vehicles such as the five-tonne trucks and MB290 vehicles, the Belrex PCSV has small arms fire and mine protection features, providing soldiers with localised close proximity protection to fulfil operational requirements.
The onboard C4 (Command, Control, Communications and Computers) suite of systems allow rapid information exchange with all friendly forces, increasing command and control as well as survivability on the battlefield. The recently commissioned Army Battlefield Internet will allow the Belrex PCSV and Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicles to operate on a common network, enabling the Armys motorised infantry forces to fight together in an integrated manner.
The Belrex PCSV can carry a payload of up to 4,000kg. This allows it to be configured to carry modular loads such as the battalion casualty stations and combat supplies for different combat support and combat service support functions.
Each variant is customised with different features to fulfil the different roles, with seating capacities varying from four to ten (including vehicle commander and driver). For instance, the logistics variants are equipped with shelves to carry stores to resupply the combat forces and as a result, have smaller cabins to accommodate the larger rear cargo area; the signal variants are equipped with antenna mast to establish communication links.
