This group has been inactive, so I thought I would stir it up.
Please respond to the Roll call with your name and the families you are researching in Gadsden County.

Also, let me advise you that I have recently added more Gadsden County Times newsclippings to the Gadsden GenWeb site and am halfway through 1927.

I received 36 ancestor photos from one lady last week, so I will be very busy getting those on the GenWeb site.

Statistics for the Florida GenWeb sites for the past two weeks show Gadsden County has more visitors than any other county except Orange County (Orlando) where their site is administered by the historical society so it has two groups of people interested in it.  Last week alone, the People Photo site on Gadsden got 58 hits.  So everyone is interested in seeing who the latest ancestor photos are of.  I'm enjoying this immensely.

I'm meeting with the Gadsden County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director this week, AT HIS REQUEST, to discuss common interests.  He is trying to revitalize the Quincy Historical Society, which  has been inactive for several years.  I am hoping that I can get access to many of their holdings for posting on the Gadsden GenWeb site, and will be happy to assist them in any way I can.  More news after the meeting.

I am looking for more information about  John A. Flanagan who died May 21, 1995 in Gadsden. I am not sure if he was a long term resident or just a snowbird. He may be a missing person in my research.

Please forward to Susan Howell Mills. Hi, Susan.  It was great to hear from you indirectly through Gadsden Genealogy website. I signed on there, too, hoping for a lively chatroom with lots of information shared, but if anyone else is researching the Parramores or Pittmans they are keeping it to themselves.  I enjoy the research, especially since I have Ancestry.com and Family Tree.  While researching the Par's from Mt Pleasant I did learn that the Howell Families were the founders of Mt Pleasant and quite instrumental in its early development.  It has been so long since I have done anything with that Tree that I can't really remember much of anything in it right now.  I have four Trees going, one of which is getting ready to be published soon. Jim is yelling at me--seems I sabotaged his blender again--put the gasket on the bottom and his shake ran everywhere! Ain't retirement a blast!  I hope you are doing well and that you are happy.  Sincerely, Mellany Nelson Irby
