Google emoji images are used on most Android devices, Gmail Web Interface, Google Meet, and ChromeOS. These are provided as part of the Noto Emoji project. These images are also used for Slack on non-Apple platforms including Windows, Linux, and Android.

Gboard also includes an emoji mashup feature known as Emoji Kitchen which allows two emojis to be combined into a sticker. Thousands of combinations are available, using Gboard for Android and Google search.

Yes it is. Personally I could not reproduce it with 15 minutes of aggressive fiddling, so I asked our community for support. Several users were able to repro and one even proved it with a screenshot. Symptoms are unchanged - once you tap the thumb up -emoji on the selector, the keyboard folds away, and some written content is lost in the editor.

The double events cause a crash due to the way our autocomplete library is designed. So the library listens to both keydown and keyup events, and on keydown it clears the autocomplete suggestions and on keyup it offers new suggestions based on the new autocomplete term.

Ah, I feel so dumb for not reporting this detail. My previous phone was a clean Android One so it had the Gboard as default, and it has followed me ever since to the next device (Sammy A42 5G). But most Android devices sold today use a 3rd party keyboard app by default

There are six sound effects to choose from, including a fart noise, which all correspond to existing emoji. You can play the audio emoji directly during a phone call to annoy whoever you're talking with, because I can't see how anyone on the receiving end could love this feature.

If I had to choose an equivalent, it would be to those soundboards that old school radio hosts used to play with during interviews and dead air, with all sorts of quirky sound effects, like a toilet flushing or a sad trombone. It's annoying then too.

If you're looking to be that person, and I think you know what I mean by that person, well, then you'll definitely want to take advantage of the new audio emoji on your Android device. Here's everything you need to know.

While most of the audio emoji are straightforward, the crying face emoji corresponds to the sad trombone noise made as a joke when someone fails at something, and the drum emoji is the rimshot sound effect made after someone tells the punchline to a joke.

You may need to download the beta version of the Phone by Google app. You can sign up here. After becoming a tester, go to the Play Store app, hit your profile photo in the top-right, go to Manage apps & device > Updates available and update the Phone by Google app.

Now, before I show you how to use these audio emoji, please remember that with great power comes great responsibility, so use the audio emoji only when necessary or else you risk your friends, colleagues and family members hanging up on you and never wanting to talk to you on the phone ever again. Got it?

OK, to use audio emoji, call someone on your Android or pick up a phone call and then hit the new audio emoji button that appears right above your phone dialer buttons (keypad, mute and speaker). After you hit the audio emoji button, it will expand to show you the six audio emoji options you have.

Tap an audio emoji button, like the poop or drum emoji, and the corresponding sound effect will play for a few seconds, along with an equally annoying and low-quality full-screen animation. The sound effect will be heard by both parties, and as someone who's already been a victim to audio emoji, let me tell you, it's pretty dang loud and annoying.

Pretty simple to use, but at the same time, shouldn't be used all the time, especially during professional phone calls or more serious conversations. As someone who loves to prank my friends, I can see these audio emoji being overused and quickly becoming more annoying than funny. Imagine dropping a womp womp as your friend cries to you about a breakup?

I really prefer the look of Apple emojis and would like to use them on my site but once I paste it in there it changes! It even loads as the Apple version for half a second and immediately changes to Android.

The reason? For years, the Numbers and Symbols key sat at the lower-left corner of the default iOS keyboard. So if you needed to type a number or symbol, you could tap that key to toggle the display. But in more recent iOS versions, Apple has placed the emoji key there instead. And I still mis-hit it constantly when what I want is a number or symbol.

With this change, the emoji (and GIF) nonsense will be moved so that it is an alternate for the comma key. So you can still access those things by pressing and holding the comma key and then swiping up to the emoji icon that appears next to the Settings gear.

Apple simply lets you remove the emoji key, which is the approach I like the best: Navigate to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Then, tap Edit and then select the red Remove (-) icon next to Emoji, and then Delete.

Next week Paul yells "Get off my lawn!" at some kids! :)
I kid, I kid. I get annoyed everytime I hit the emoji key on my Swiftkey keyboard by mistake. Now I have to go look and see if I can make it an alternate pop-up key so it's less difficult to accidentally tap.

On iPad at least, you can just swipe down on keys to type alter symbols like numbers or punctuation. There are people out there whose native language isn't english. We need that key on iOS to switch between different layouts. On iPhone X it placed differently and IMHO much more convenient.

Once you open the gif selection screen on Gboard (the default keyboard) it will sometimes allow you to post one GIF and then the keyboard switches back to qwerty and will not allow you to open GIF selection or emoji keyboard. If you used Gboard to post a GIF in another app and then come into MM Gboard automatically selects GIF causing the keyboard to crash/close instantly. Sometimes opening the emoji keyboard completely crashes the app.

So a little background, I bought a Samsung S20 at a huge cost of around 1,000 in December 2020. The main reason for choosing this phone was because the keyboard offered me numbers and letters, iPhone's standard keyboard makes you press a button to get to numbers, and I use number hundreds of times a day so this is a real life benefit unlike slightly better looking pictures.

I have now found the emoji keyboard button has gone, and can only be replaced if i swap out the comma button for it. I basically need letters, numbers, punctuation and emoji's, pretty much in every text and email.

Samsung SCREWED ME with this update I can not reach their new location of the voice to text mic HATE this set up!!! WHY CAN'T ANYONE LEAVE ***** ALONE! CHANGED my ringtone how i can add a personal ringtone tone to a caller .. why do we have to go through multiple steps now?? I'm not sure if it's an Android issue or an Evernote app issue, but I can't seem to choose genders for my emojis. I long press on them to select the gender, but after saving the note it reverts back to a gender neutral emoji with the female or male symbol next to it. Not sure why this is happening.

odd. It could be a font issue. I just tested it on my Samsung S20 running Android 11. It works for me. It also syncs correctly and is displayed correctly on my chromebook. Out of interest, what keyboard are you using and what phone and what Android version?

Do you enjoy using emojis and selfies to communicate? Galaxy phones and tablets offer a fun feature: personalized emojis! With this feature, available on select models running Android 9.0 or later, you can transform into an emoji yourself. Starting with a selfie, you can customize your look and express yourself in unique ways, whether through texts or as photo stickers.

You'll find various options like emojis, GIFs, and custom stickers in the emoji menu. If you're looking to streamline your experience, you can customize keyboard shortcuts by adding or removing them in the Samsung Messages app settings.

With your emoji set up, explore photo and video options in the Camera app under AR Zone. Modes like Scene, Mask, Mirror, and Play allow for creative expressions with your emoji in different contexts.

On the latest phones, emojis are revamped with more customization options, including age and gender neutrality, outfit downloads, and personalization features. Visit the My Emoji home screen via the Camera app and AR Zone to explore these new capabilities.
