I install Heroic Games Launcher and install some games. Two of them doesn't work but after reboot launch perfectly unless i do other things. But the other don't launch. I configure them with the proton version recommended and reboot, but that's not work. I'd like an explaination on the method for runninng my games on Heroic Games Launcher. I'm a beginner on linux, more than one week i'm on.
I installed Heroic Games Launcher, then installed several games, being careful to select the proton version recommended on protondb. Two of my games namely Fez and Darkest Dungeon launch perfectly without me having to do anything else. However, other installed games do not want to run even after selecting the recommended proton version. I don't see what else to do
What is a game that didn't launch for you that protondb says should work? Just curious, any free ones I can test?
the 2 you mention work perfectly both support OpenGL and Linux natively (they don't mention that on Epic store page) which makes me think it's a Proton related issue as you might have guessed already
I have already been to the github page and have already installed everything correctly, despite this I still had problems. This morning by starting my pc it seems that for some obscure reason the games installed which did not work the day before want to start. I don't really understand why it works since I only started my PC but it works
It was For The King and Cave Story + yesterday, but there were also issues with Hob and Moonlighter. I installed them, select the proton version recommended but nothing passed. I'll retry today since it seems decided to work without me knowing why
I have those game to on my library. Will try it and tinker it soon and I hope I will get some result like how I run mostly my games on steam, blizzard and epic. Most games that I can't play is because of EAC like The Division 2. But still I don't want go back to W10 just because of some few games.
I got the new free release from Epic today and installed NVSE when I went to launch the game using the NVSE loader I got an error stating that my version of the game was too new for the version of NVSE I was using(which is the latest version). I am guessing due to the age of the game NVSE isn't likely to be updated. This is similar to the FO3 issue which was easily fixed by installing an old patch. I can't find similar patch files for FONV. If anyone knows of another way to fix this I would greatly appreciate your help.
FO3 is a bit different. The only difference between the version of FO3 that was supported by FOSE and the version that was not supported by FOSE was the removal of Games For Windows Live. Since FOSE disabled GFWL anyway, going back to the game version that worked with FOSE made zero difference to anybody and therefore there was no point in updating FOSE.
With F:NV it's a bit different. NVSE is still being supported in the form of xNVSE, plus "A Tale of Two Wastelands" has made it common for people to play FO3 in the F:NV engine using NVSE and you can't just revert to an earlier version on Epic Games Store because there is no earlier version to revert to.
Here is link to mod, for epic version to make nvse to work. Epic Games Patcher at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com). Just atm any mod requiring honest hearts isnt working(atleast those I tested), as for some reason that dlc isn't fully implemented, it show ups but you cant install.
I can't seem to get Fallout 3 to launch from Mod Organizer. I was sure it worked a couple weeks ago, but for whatever reason I can't get it to launch either the main Fallout.exe or fose_loader.exe. It just exits MO like you'd expect, then nothing. No new process sitting in the background either.
I can launch all 3 exe's from the desktop, but of course I get a CTD after the first logo (missing master crash I think?). I've used the LAA enabling program on fallout.exe but it made no difference to this.
I forgot one. If you have too many unextracted BSAs (based in total character count of the BSA names) there is a problem in MO. This is mentioned in the FO3 guide, but perhaps not strongly enough. I might put in the specific instructions in MO to enable BSA extraction while installing MO so the choice comes up whenever a mod is installed that includes a BSA (vs. wAiting until a problem occurs).
I think it is a hard cap of the Data folder for Fallout of the number of BSAs loaded by plugin. If they are INI loaded then there can be tons of BSAs of for FNV, I think Queue raised the cap to 8100+ characters, but F3 may still have the INI limit as well.
I'm having similar issues, I can't play from MO, if I try to the game opens and CTDs after a second. It happens only through MO fose, fallout3.exe and fallout3launcher.exe but if I launch the game from steam or directly from fose everything works fine!! My OS is Windows 8.1, I used CFF to enable more than 2gb (not LAA) from the fallout.exe, don't have any mods installed, put the fose files (without src folder) in the right directory the fallout goty root (not in data), I have the game installed in C:Games so it's not in program files, I tried the multicore fix, I tried to disable GFWL, I tried to delete the .ini files run first from vanilla skyrim and then from MO but nothing! I tried everything I can't get it to work and it's getting frustrating, I really don't understand what is going on here :(
Yes the Fallout launcher worked until I pushed "play" and it CTDs after a second BUT you did give me the idea to delete my MO profile and all the launchers from "Modify Executable" and it finally worked out!! Thank you Kelmych, much appreciated :D
I have this problem now after I installed a new video card. I'm not sure if this changed my ini files or something? FNV works fine but I cannot get the FOSE to run in MO for F03. The regular launcher for steam comes up instead in my case. Is there a way to make MO recognize FOSE again? Should I re-install FOSE?
That was my first suspect too - but I haven't found any evidence that my AV has interfered in any way. But my firewall (Private Firewall) might be involved, even though every critical component in process and application management is explicitly allowed to work freely. Yet, when I closed my LAN connection and shut down the firewall, fose started - at first. A second attempt was not successful. A third one was .. and so on.
The advanced reports done by my firewall have confirmed its interference. It became suspicious of the MO => fose calls and, consequently, started to block any call to 3rd party tools. I'll look into it a bit more, but I doubt that the answer to the why will be of any interest to the MO developers.
0:00:08.3 Matt Waller: Hi, I'm Matt Waller, Dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business. Welcome to Be Epic, the podcast where we explore excellence, professionalism, innovation and collegiality, and what those values mean in business, education and your life today. I have with me today Michelle Segar, who is the Director of the University of Michigan's Sport, Health and Activity Research and Policy Center, also known as SHARP. She has four degrees from the University of Michigan, including her PhD, and she is a sustainable behavior change scientist, and she's the author of No Sweat, which is a book that I read, and it's the reason I contacted her, because I really like the book and I read it months ago, and I still remember it, and I actually changed some of my behavior as a result. So I'm gonna share a little bit about that. But thank you so much, Michelle, for joining me today.
0:01:20.6 Matt Waller: Well, I have thought for a long time, and I know I've mentioned this to you earlier, that some of the best leaders I know personally are also very fit. Even the Chancellor of our university is extremely fit, Chancellor Steinmetz. But many of the local CEOs in Northwest Arkansas, like the CEO of Walmart, and many other people that I know that are great leaders are also very physically fit, and I try to exercise myself. But the values of our college are excellence, professionalism, innovation, and collegiality. I think a value I hold or a belief I hold, is that if you really want to be excellent, you probably need to be physically fit. It doesn't mean you need to be able to do a triathlon, but you need to be fit to some degree. Now, there are certainly exceptions to that, and I know people that are exceptions, and at various points in my life, I've probably been an exception both directions, but...
0:02:23.0 Matt Waller: So I read your book, and one change that I made is I started riding my bike to work and back every day, not for exercise, but for enjoyment. We've got these beautiful paved trails in Northwest Arkansas, truly beautiful, and riding home after a stressful day through the woods, it's just so rejuvenating to me. I absolutely love it. And sometimes I have meetings in Bentonville 25, 30 miles from here, I ride up in the morning, I have my meetings there and... All day, and then ride back. I don't think I could do it in one shot, but give me a break for about 10 hours and I could do it. But again, having that two hours of going up, it's just so fun to me. But that was one of the things that your book led me to do, and that is to go ahead and do what's enjoyable. I also enjoy lifting weights. I don't wanna lift weights every day, but I do enjoy it. But your book, No Sweat, which I would recommend to anyone wanting to get fit, really is interesting. I'd like you to tell me a little bit about how... What made you decide to write that book, No Sweat?
