Hi Group,

After a long time, I was going through the list and trying to answer
some of the questions here. It's good to see that this group is still
active and vibrant with so many flex enthusiasts.

Based on my observation, I just wanted to bring one thing in your
notice that is 'group etiquette'. If we all abide by some of group
etiquette here it would be really nice. I have just noted some of my
suggestions here:

1. Please do not post one liners. They are hard to understand.
2. Explain your issues clearly and provide sample/code where required.
3. Have the courtesy to say thank you to the person who tried to
answer your queries.

Please add to this list based on your observation.

Thanks,
Debabrata

Hi Deb,

Completely agree to your points, its high time that we understand what are good etiquettes, I have been trying all this while to pitch in at times and highlight such ground rules, we want flex-india to grow leeps and bounds, and make it the best forum probably in the world for all the flex and flash related questions and queries, such a vision would be a reality only when each one of us understand the importance of etiquettes.

Certain points that i would want to highlight in addition to what you have mentioned.

1. Please dont post multiple threads for the same issues, moderators at flex india google group spare good amount of time to moderate through the posts, and multiple threads on same topic either adds confusion for the moderators as to which one to approve and for members as to which one to answer or add more unanswered threads to the forum, if we think we want to add more information to a question, please post the additional content in the same thread instead of creating multiple threads.

2.Please put your subject liners appropriately, it will help us the prospective answering member to understand the problem more quickly and it would get you more visibility inside the forum, please avoid subject lines like "Plz Help me" "question" "urgent" "help" "flex help" etc.

3.Lets respect the time of other members in the group, lets say thank you if you find the answers helpful, appreciate or applaud, congratulate members on their achievements, this would encourage not only you but others also, and if you think you have benefited from the answers, do try to contribute back and share your suggestions and answers on the topics that you might know.

4. Please do not post your replies to the job postings on the group, please send personal email to the person who posted the job on the group, if you think that the postings lacks certain information, shoot a question to the person directly and get your clarifications.

5. Please do not send forwards to the group or group members or other personal invitations to the sites like linkedin, facebook etc, this is considered as spam and the member might end up facing a ban if this happens more than once.

thanks again Deb for highlighting this, I would also like to thank all of our members for making flex india the largest and the most vibrant community in India. And a big shout out to all the top contributors of the group, you guys are all rockstars, a big thank you to all of you.

Saurabh

P.S Others members are welcome to add their suggestions in this thread, i would make this post sticky on the group.

Hi Saurabh,

Thanks for making this thread a sticky one. I agree on all the points
you have mentioned above. I hope our fellow members will follow these
guidelines while posting their messages here. Please note that this
group is visited by lots of developers around the world who might be
taking your next interview. Having a positive impression here might
increase your chance to find a better opportunity in the future.

Also, this group depicts a over all picture of the flex talent pool
based out of India. A well disciplined group will increase our
credibility as better professionals. So, it will be really great if
we consider the guidelines mentioned by Saurabh before we post
anything on this group.

I would like to thank you all the moderator and contributors to keep
the group alive and useful over the years.

Best Regards,
Debabrata
