Trying to get text values from Advanced Data Grid

I am trying to take some string and say whether or not it is present
in an advanced data grid. I got it working locally on a test setup but
now that the dataProvider for the ADG is on a server it's more
complicated and I can't find a way to do it. I started a SO question
as well about it, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4619294/trying-to-get-text-in-advanced-data-grid-cell,
if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
