thanks.Kent, its sounds like you are having trouble running Flex on your Ubuntu 14.04 system. Sorry about that!
OK, so I don't need '/usr/lib/fieldworks/DistFiles' or '/usr/lib/fieldworks/Output_x86_64/Debug' ?Most of the warnings that get printed by 'fieldworks-flex' are red-herrings.
libgdiplus-sil is already the newest version. But I didn't expect "[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.ArgumentException: A null reference or invalid value was found [GDI+".
That makes me wonder if maybe the libgdiplus-sil package didn't get installed.
Nope. That's why I ran it from the command line.1. Run FieldWorks Language Explorer from the launcher in the Dash (or similar GUI way to launch applications), rather than from commandline. See if that works. (Very silly, but let's determine if it is any different).
$ dpkg -l fieldworks fieldworks-applications mono-sil libgdiplus-sil mono-basic-sil gtk-sharp2-sil geckofx29 | cat2. What gets printed by this command: (the |cat on the end makes dpkg -l not truncate some of its fields)
dpkg -l fieldworks fieldworks-applications mono-sil libgdiplus-sil mono-basic-sil gtk-sharp2-sil geckofx29 | cat
Great.I want to figure out what is going wrong with flex on your machine, and trying the above will be a good first step in diagnosing.
thanks. I'll be around much of the afternoon, for whenever you have/need more.Sorry flex is giving you trouble! I hope we can get it straightened out for you and for others who may experience the same thing unless we get this fixed.
