In our area we are now comoningly using two or more standardized word lists. One is the CAWL of about 1,700 words and another list of 600 words developed by Bantuist to study and compare Bantu languages. After we have collected these two list separately in two different Flex projects, I would like to be able to easily merge the two projects into one to bootstrap dictionary creation. Flex does not seem to have specific features to join two projects. What have others done to join two projects, and how did you handle duplicates in the lists?

I suggest experimenting with FLEx's LIFT Export/Import. Export LIFT from
one project, then Import it into the other. The import will merge the two
together. Do a backup before doing this, just in case something happens
that you want to reverse. The following is based on my recollections, not a
recent test:
What happens if you've collected the same word in both projects? Since
their underlying "id"s will be different, the merger will not attempt to
merge them; you'll have to do that yourself using the tools provided in
FLEx.
This LIFT import is a 2-way merge, not a 3-way (like you get with WeSay & a
future FLEx). So if you have items which have been intentionally deleted
from one project and not the other, then in the merged version, the deleted
items will reappear. If all you're doing is a one-time merge, this problem
won't affect you.
