As of late, anytime I do S/R, my fonts, somehow, are messed up and I have to resort to correct them in Format/Styles manually. I know a while back Ken Zook mentioned that I would get this problem if I didn't configure the styles correctly. So, what am I doing wrong? Can I use my own font independently of the other team member? if not, how would I fix it so I won't have this issue.

FLEx stores the font and keyboard independently for each user. This information is stored in a .ulsx file in SharedSettings of your project directory. Each user has their own file for this information. It is not sent via S/R. This allows each user to specify a different keyboard and font for each writing system. This will not change during S/R. The downside for this is every user must set their keyboard and font individually when they start using a project. FLEx will remember it until you need to delete your project and do Get Project from Colleague. When you delete your project, these settings are lost, so you have to go back and restore your fonts and keyboards after getting the project (unless you save this file and restore it after getting the project).

However, fonts can also be set in Format > Styles. Styles will override the default font you set in the Writing System Properties. The style settings are part of the fwdata file that gets included in S/R. So if you change a font in the style, all of your colleagues will also be using that font (which may require installing the font on their machines). If some other user changes the font in the style, all colleagues will also switch. And if two users change it in the same S/R cycle, there will be a merge conflict and one user will win and the other will lose their settings. So if you want to allow users to specify their own fonts, you cannot set the fonts in the styles, but you have to depend on the settings in Writing System Properties. Unfortunately, if you want to change the size of the fonts, it can only be done in the styles, which means all users will share the same settings.
