Phonology Assistant 4.1.1 installation issue

Greetings,

I just installed PA 4.1.1. I am not able to load my FW data into PA. I am having PA load the data from the pronunciation field in FW. This has worked in the past. If I understand correctly, the error message says that the file is being used by another process. 

Does anyone know what to do? Has anyone had this issue before?

Close Flex first. It should work then.

I have done that, and it doesn't load all the data. I should add that I am only getting one word to appear out of the whole FW database.

I have on occasion experienced a second, hidden, instance of FLEx running. To ensure that FieldWorks is not running after closing FLEx, I use Task Manager and look for FieldWorks on the Processes tab. If it’s there but I don’t see a FLEx window, I right-click on it and End Task.

 

I don’t know if this is what’s going on in your case or not, but I put it out there for consideration.

I just got it to work!! It was a font issue. The writing system for the phonetic data had to be specified.
